I have a problem for rage and it's annoying.
I buy the game on CD, but I have a big graphics problem.

I search a solution, but nothing...

I have made a "rageConfig.cfg" in the steam-steamapps-common-rage-base

And

in the game launcher of Steam.

If someone have a solution, please help me.

remove the config file and start up commands , and run the game normally fully patched it could be the config file or start up commands that you have added that are causing you problems , you need to test the game under normal conditions without made up start commands to narrow down the problem ..

The problem is in the value you inserted. That's supposed to be 8192 NOT 8096.

when i got this problem, rageconfig.cfg doesn`t work for me. I had to go to the texture cache directory at C:/users/yourname/appdata/id Software/local/...etc and delete the .bin files there. Have you tried this already?

Are you forcing settings in your video card's control panel? If so then you shouldn't; reset them all to "Application Controlled", or "Let the application decide", or whatever it may be, and see what happens.

here are a few things you can try.

first:
check if you have the cache directory path
C:/Users/Username/AppData/Local check if there is and "id software" folder, if not, then create an "id software" folder, and inside that create a "rage" folder

second:
Try resetting the config, delete the rageconfig.cfg file, then add this line in the launch parameter "+cvar_restart", launch the game, exit, remove the "+cvar_restart" then launch the game again.
simply deleting the rageconfig.cfg file won't set the config to default.

third:
set launch parameter to "+jobs_numThreads 0 +vt_maxPPF 16"
(maxPPF 16 for quad core, maxPPF 8 for dual core)

this method fixed the no texture problem for me, although it doesn't fix the slight texture pop-ins and the occasional crashes.

I used the second option and it's ok ! But there are some lag !

What video drivers are you using? There's new ones out you can try!

Does your CPU Usage stay on 100% when you're playing RAGE? If not take the "jobs_numThreads -1" line out.

As stated before, you're texture cache values should be 8192 or 4096, however you can remove these lines and do the (rough) equivalent in the settings option now:

TEXTURE CACHE - LOW -------- 4096
TEXTURE CACHE - HIGH -------- 8192

For the sake of trial and error, try a LOW texture cache setting (if you're using the in game settings options) or 4096 if you're still using a config file.

With lag, try to lower your resolution, turn off programs running in the background and see if one (or more) of them are causing lag / low framerates for you.

I don't use a rageconfig.cfg, the graphics are not very beautiful but is accetpable; but I have big lag and is not playable...

Sometimes I have between 3 to 12 FPS, amazing !
