problem with staircase object - can't walk up stairs properl

Post » Wed Jun 20, 2012 4:51 pm

When testing a current scenery I'm making, for some reason my character can't walk up the stairs properly. I don't know whether it's some kind of problem with the specific staircase object I'm using. I don't have any problem walking down the stairs as such, but when walking up, I just seem to get stuck on each stair. I haven't resized or rotated the staircase object in any way, so I don't know what the problem is? I need it to work in order to blend in with the room below that the stairs lead to, as that room uses the same textures.

Any help would be appreciated.

i used that same one and i had the same problem. my solution was to lay a collision box over it at the same angle, bring it down so that the edges of the steps are just poking through the collision box.

Just realised it actually says it in the name of the object - they're only meant to be 1-way stairs!

Name of the object: GenKitHallSm1wayStair256.

But thanks, I'll try what you suggested though and see if I can actually get round that
