Problems one might encounter with a total Non-Crafting Chara

Post » Tue Jan 29, 2013 10:45 am

If you have a character that does no crafting, be it alchemy, smithing*, or enchanting**, what problems might an adventurer encounter out in the world? I've not really done character like this, so I wanted to add to the challenge and increase the "excitement' of exploring and finding new items.

Also, I've noticed that septims are not as plentiful when playing a character like this...especially one that doesn't steal anything!

* Maybe just smithing to "fine" state is allowable, since any novice should be able to do so, but no further.

** Simple enchantments allowed in order to name your weapons/gear

Well your weapons won't be able to do much damage to higher level enemys in the future. Having a sword that does maybe 35 damage against a Forsworn Ravager is suicide.

On past characters, I've used bound weapons (daedric equivalent) and didn't have too much trouble dealing damage.

I will have a companion with me most of the time, and the difficulty is set at Adept, for what it's worth.

Of course, if you don't plan on using the crafting skills, Bound Weapons are the way to go.

I get that, in the sense that if you want the most power out of your weapons, but my character is a Paladin, i.e. no conjuration magick.
