PC Problems please help!

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 8:00 pm

Since a few days ago my computer has been freezing and I have to turn it off and back on to make it work again, half of the time it freezes at the windows start up screen. I have seen the Blue Screen a few times to. I really need to clean the dust out, I am hoping this is just a case of Over heating and self preservation ,where I can just blow out the dust and it will run fine. While it is on it works exactly as normal I can even play SWTOR with no problems. Then it will randomly freeze and crash throughout the day.

There are a lot of things that could cause this. Viruses/malware/trojans -- download Malwarebytes' free software and run it. Your HDD could be packing up -- are there any strange whirs/clicks/sounds coming from your PC case? How old is your CPU/motherboard? Did you install any drivers or upgrade any software just before this started happening?

I haven't heard any strange noises coming from it, I bought and assembled my computer last feb. Everything is a year old.

Do what Oof suggested but I would suggest posting here for better advice, if any:

Hope you can get it fixed soon!

Clean it first, if that doesn' help try running it with the side cover off (allows better cooling)

You're describing classic overheating issues.

You can also get programs to monitor temperatures (PC-Wizard etc)
