Processor Set to "Low" in Task Manager? and running

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 11:38 am

Just wondering if the Rage.exe being set to low in Task Manager has anything to do with poor performance or if anyone else has noticed this? I always set mine to high when I begin from my last save. I notice it does play smoother but hope someone else has some input.

I am running Rage on a 2010 Mac Mini via Boot Camp/Vista. Nvidia 320m integrated gfx (unsupported) driver 261.41....I know I know Blasphemy! As far as gameplay the engine is smooth. I added some other tweaks to steam launcher to make it play better. IDK if they actually do anything but I will list them here for other Mac Mini/Mac Users. I do overclock sometimes but I really havent noticed much difference when doing so. I also added the cache file fix, even though bethesda has said it doesnt do anything. just 1gb zeros.

I am running it at 720p as well.

+vt_maxPPF 4 +r_swapInterval 1 +com_skipIntroVideo 1 +image_usecompression 0 +fc_maxcachememoryMB 1024 +cvaradd g_fov 10 +vt_pageImageSizeUnique 4096 +vt_pageImageSizeUniqueDiffuseOnly 4096 +vt_pageImageSizeUniqueDiffuseOnly 4096

I do have the same texture problems as everyone else but they are not as noticeable now. I am able to play and enjoy the game until future patches arrive.

I am only running this on my Mac Mini until my EVGA GFX card arrives in the mail.

Any other Mac Users suggestions? Other than buy a PC. I personally like to do things outside of the box.

Why you lyin'?

I'm unable to play on a NEW iMac with an ATI HD 6xxxxM card b/c there isn't a new enough driver and Rage crashes upon load. Bootcamp don't work with Rage :toughninja:

I play most of my PC games on my 2010 Mac Mini via bootcamp. Fallout 3 GOTY, Oblivion GOTY with Qarls Texture Pack...I play an assortment of mods made for them and am working on one.

I'm not trolling actually - go to the AMD site - they don't support any drivers for the Mac (bootcamp) platform beyond 9 months ago or so - I play pretty much anything on this crappy iMac, but can't play Rage b/c of the driver issue - but good luck.

My Mac Mini is an NVIDIA system. Not an ATI Mac system, I have read that most ATI cards are having problems with playing the game in general. Nvidia Driver 261.41
