Professional Wrestling - Thread #2

Several of the final comments of the previous thread were in regards to some of the past Wrestlemania pay-per-views events.

My question to everyone who comes to the thread is "have you ever been to a Wrestlemania"? If so, please elaborate and tell us your favorite moments from the event

If you've never been to a Wrestlemania, "have you been to any wrestling house shows, show tapings or any PPV event"? This goes for any wrestling organization, not just WWE or TNA. If you have been to one, please tell us about it.

Discuss away.

"have you been to any wrestling house shows, show tapings or any PPV event"?

I went to Wrestlemania 23 in 2007 in Detroit. I had an amazing time and that was actually my first ever live event that I attended.

I've also been to numerous different live shows. I even still have all my tickets, including the one for Wrestlemania, and their taped to the wall just above my PC. I've been to two Monday Night RAW shows, but never a Smackdown. I also attended the 2009 Royal Rumble, the one Randy Orton won. Also, I sat in row 3 for the Over the Limit pay-per-view event in 2010, and you can see my on camera during the majority of the event!

I've never been, but I'd like to go to one. Summerslam is in LA this year so I might go to that.

Undertaker vs Punk and Lesnar vs Triple H is looking to be brutal beyond hell. I've come up with a few predictions on how it may go.

Undertaker vs Punk

Scenario 1: A brutal fight occurs between the two. Punk may be likely to use THE URNNNNNNNNN on Undertaker as a weapon sometime during the fight, which will launch him into a frenzy that results in Punk's defeat. The Streak is safe, and Undertaker announces his plans to retire.

Scenario 2: Punk uses THE URNNNNNNNNN on Undertaker and gives him a good beating. With faith and body broken, Punk beats Undertaker's streak and walks out of the ring carrying THE URNNNNNNNNN. Taker leaves the arena in shame without another word, and for months we don't see him.... though there is potential buildup to a return, like when they had Underfaker.

This is not the end of The Undertaker however. One day, when Punk is wrestling John Smith, the gongs go off. The stadium darkens, monks begin to chant, and mist begins to roll in... but Undertaker's theme does not play. As a matter of fact, nobody known on WWE shows up at first. Ominous music starts to ring throughout the stadium, similiar to Taker's style, and yet very different.

Flame rises from the ring, departing the mist... and there stands a new competitor, never before seen. His style in costume resembles a combination of Undertaker and Kane. The new competitor attacks Punk and gives him a good beating, causing Punk to retreat. And then the gongs ring once more, a combination of Undertaker's darker themes playing throughout the stadium as he comes forth.

Undertaker announces that he has "fought as many battles as his body can take," and reveals that he is taking up a manager position similar to Paul Bearer. The Undertaker's Apprentice is introduced, and Taker tells Punk that he has his next opponent for Wrestlemania 2014. The stakes? "Give. Me. Back. His. Urn."

Lesnar vs Triple H

First, I'd like to say that Lesnar is a [censored] psycho. Now that we have that out of the way, I have imagined three scenarios for Triple H.

Scenario 1: Triple H wins in a brutal fight. The end.

Scenario 2: The two have the heaviest fight ever seen. Lesnar is relentless, wanting to practically kill Triple H in this fight. After a good half hour of them beating on eachother, Triple H having pulled out the Sledgehammer, Lesnar ends up going into a frenzy. He manages to snap the sledgehammer in half, smashing the blunt end against Triple H's head and then finishing the match. Triple H loses the match, his career as a wrestler, and is seriously injured.

But months later, the unexpected (expected) happens. Triple H returns to WWE as the head manager and either gets a rematch against Lesnar in which he finally pumps out a win, or does an awesome "YOU'RE FIREDDDDDDDDDDDD!" on him before sodomizing Paul Hayman for the world to see.

Scenario 3: Triple H wins with a broken hammer. The next few months slowly build up to him becoming a manager.

I think a theme with this years Wrestlemania is that it is the last part in many character's stories. All the ones whom are still respectable anyways... (sorry Kane.) It's time to put the old stars out of the ring and make way for new blood.

When I watch WWE, I separate the good storylines from the bad. Let Cena, AJ Lee, Daniel Bryan, and Kane do their little thing. It's cute. The real show is with the people whom have everything on the line right now, whether it be dignity or their careers. Once those people have finished their stories, it will be time for new stars to come into the fold.

To me, Cena is to WWE these days what people like The Hardy Boys were to WWE in the early 2000's/late 90s.

Wow. Fandango attacks Jericho in the arena once (and this is all he's pretty much done since debuting) and he has a match at Mania. All because Y2J pronounced his name wrong. Whatisthisidonteven.

Lesnar vs HHH and Punk vs Taker should be good but honestly there's too much crap on the card this year to be worth watching. I hope Ziggler cashes in at Mania on Del Rio or Swagger and wins the Tag Team titles at least.

Id have to agree with you. Its very annoying.

The Cena/Rock promo on Raw surprised the hell out of me. Cena gave possibly the best promo hes ever given in WWE, he was fantastic. It keeps making me think a heel turn might actually happen, because the Rock keeps getting the upper hand, and Cena knows he can't afford to lose again. Yeah, he might just end up winning in superman fashion again, like always, but I'd like to think something more would happen. Something more controversial. I really hope I'm right.

Doesn't he have to cash in at Mania? I think the contract expires then.

I doubt they will turn their biggest cash cow into a heel. It's unfortunate, although I dislike John Cena completely and utterly, I can admit he is a very talented individual. WWE Does not let him use all of his own talent. It's always "ok your gonna go out, get the [censored] kicked out of you, lay on the ground forever then at the last second you'll hit the AA and pin for the win!". He is very very good on the mic. I respect him for what he is, even though I hate him.

To Jack Bauer 24, I think he has until the next Money In The Bank PPV. (They should of kept that match a WM exclusive.)

I watched a video with Bret Hart, with him basically talking [censored] about Hulk Hogan - none of which I agreed with, but I did agree with his words about Eric Bishoff. Took me a lot of years before actually "seeing" it but Eric did screw up a lot. Bret thinks AJ Styles should come to the WWE where he would be "used better". Bret forgets that the WWE killed the cruiserweight division, where AJ Styles excels at the most. Hell his whole entire move set, involves him doing high fly moves, all of which the WWE would sanction pretty badly to the point where he would have hardly any moves to do.. Bret doesn't seem to recognize that TNA is AJ Styles, and Dixie and co. know this very well. There hasn't been a match yet, even as a heel or even when he jobbed to Christopher Daniels, that has not been a "must watch" match. Although he does recognize that AJ is a natural at what he does. The crap about Hogan was hard to follow. The only thing I don't like about Hulk Hogan is he is coming off like he's tired of his Hulkamania persona and just wants to be a boring dude. None of his promos are full of energy but forced words. In other words, all I see sometimes, is just a man, and not Hulk Hogan.
