CD Projekt to announce something on April 5th.

CD Projekt RED has revealed that it’s to announce ‘something truly extraordinary’ on April 5th.

Within a press release announcing that The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition has now gone gold, we captured this little nugget.
The game will be released in over two weeks, but I think we will surprise players in the following weeks. On the 5th of April we will host a conference and announce something truly extraordinary – so be sure to watch our live stream at 5 p.m. GMT that day.” Said Marcin Iwiński, joint-CEO pf CD Projekt RED.

I am thinking it's the Witcher 3, but i also get a feeling it might be the PS3 Version of the Witcher 2.

What do guys think?

I have my doubts it's the PS3 version although anything's possible.

I doubt it would be a PS3 version for many reasons but mainly it took a year for Witcher 2 to reach 360 the current rumors of the PS4 suggesting it will release within a year and Witcher anything on a PS4 would blow whatever would come out on PS3 or 360. Also 360 is windows easier to "port" a PC game to a 360 because they have similar aspects in architecture unlike the PS3 which is brutal for even exclusive devs such as metal gear or Uncharted

Maybe they announce they've been bought by Zenimax :hehe:

NO GOD no do not ruin one of the few great developers left out their. Don't even joke we seen multiple times what happens publisher has rights over the dev I don't want to see that happen with CD projeckt RED because they still make quality games.

I've got suspicions it may be an expansion pack.

It would be an easy thing to do too. They hired voice actors for the fixed end game of Witcher 2. It would be easy to insert a further plot to build up an expansion/sequel. That way they aren't just hiring for the ending voice actors, but expansion/sequel as well. Two birds with one stone.

Yea they wish! The BGS haters won't admit it but being bought by Zenimax is pretty much the highest award in this industry. EA and Activision are tier 2 quality, CD Projekt is no name quality.

Would be a huge mistake if Zeni bought CD Projeckt. It'd be great for Zeni but not great for CD or the fans.

As to what this announcement is, could be further DLC plans for Witcher 2. I have my doubts it's the PS3 version. It could be a new IP which would be great if it's an RPG and has character creation with the choice of choosing male or female.

Being bought by ANY publisher means poor quality products period Bethesda is no different then EA or Activision rushed games through the ass with each of em.

That is why it would be a huge mistake, Obsidian is the perfect example with Fallout New Vegas. That's probably the best 3rd party game that Beth has pumped out, the others besides RAGE have been failures, RAGE was average.

CD Projekt's games sure are a hell of a lot better than anything Bethesda has done in the past ten years.

The list of games that they've published is pretty piss poor.

This. Their narrative is simply stunning, and the world engrossing. It feels so real and fantastical in a way no Elder Scrolls game could ever be. Why is this? It's designed as a video game first, a story second. There's nothing wrong with this, but people like myself prefer story over gameplay Witcher 2 usually triumphs. Where as the Witcher series is a series of books adapted into a stunning story based RPG. I wouldn't want Bethesda touching the Witcher series with your standard 10 foot pole. I'm not sure I would like the Witcher 2 developers touching an open world game. I don't think they could do it, or the narrative might suffer for it.

If CD Projeckt can ever get character creation and the ability to play as either a Male or Female, you could be looking at something spectaular, even more so then what they currently are doing with The Witcher series.

Hope deflating. No new new stuff. All stuff for the console people. Nice stuff for PC, but hardly what I would consider an "extraordinary" announcement. You use the words for something like a new game or expansion.

Edit
Ughh... I bought Fallout from there. Now it's free. WHY GOD WHY!!!! *falls on knees*

Edit2
That's it? I have to admit I'm impressed at their new direction, but it doesn't deserve the label "extraordinary announcement". Ugh what a troll.

When is the update for the pc enhanced edition out? I have a 10 GB update paused on steam but I doubt thats it, there are some suggestions that a private test update may have been released to the public accidently, I can't be sure if this is the case though.

Conference still isn't done yet. They'll probably save the free stuff for the end.

So far for PC people:

- If you've bought Witcher 2 anywhere, retail or Steam, etc.--starting April 17th you get a free "backup" copy from GoG. http://www.gog.com/en/page/witcherbackup

- Witcher 1: Enhanced Edition is now out for Mac

- GoG will now offer "premium versions" of newer AAA publisher games although at higher price points than their norm. First up is Ubisoft with Assassin's Creed 1 and Heroes of Might & Magic V Bundle for $19.99USD each or, for a limited time, $19.99 together if you buy both. DRM-free and includes typical GoG goodies like soundtracks, digital artbooks, etc.

- new game, Botanicula, from the makers of Machinarium and Samarost, is now up for pre-order for $8.99 IIRC. GoG's website just crashed under the weight of everyone looking for their free game, so I can't verify that.

...and Fallout 1 is now available on GoG for free for the next 48 hours. Now the conference is over.

Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition comes out on the 17th of April, to coincide with the 360 release. Whatever update you have paused shouldn't be the official Enhanced Edition.

- Yea, but that's hardly "extraordinary announcement" material
- Meh, Mac does not = PC. That is for the mac people. Congrats to them.
- This I like, but again why would they call it extraordinary? It's really awesome, but hardly something the fans of the Witcher will be into.
- I had terrible luck with Machinarium, it got stuck in one spot. A glitch where the same actions keep looping. I can't get past this bizarre glitch, and I honestly don't care. I was just so dead at that much effort only to be stopped by a weird bug. I even looked up a walkthrough and did everything as I should and it kept looping.
- Fallout 1 would be the biggest thing, if I hadn't already bought it there. See the edited post above for initial reaction. Meh.

For a fan of the witcher games, this conference doesn't exactly give them anything new or extraordinary. I was brought in under false pretenses.

I had the same reactions (both of them). Still it is nice to see that they are offering FO1 for free, perhaps this will lead to more interest in a future enhanced edition something or other.

On some level, however, it is a little odd that Interplay would decide to give the game away for free just before the rights are to be transferred to Zenimax. :sadvaultboy:

It's their vengeance battle cry. Their kamikaze and last stab at Zenimax. Hahaha. Well played. Went down fighting.
