The Protector Spell pack adds support spells that let you use your wizarding skill to lead your allies to victory! Let your followers focus on killing the enemy, and you can focus on keeping them alive with this simple set of spells. This mod is absolutely game-changing for players of support characters, letting you have the satisfaction of destroying enemies with pure passive aggression.

Spells added:

Alteration -
  • Oakflesh on Other
  • Stoneflesh on Other
  • Ironflesh on Other
  • Ebonyflesh on other
  • DragonHide on Other
  • Waterbreathing on Other

Destruction -
  • Flame Cloak on Other
  • Frost Cloak on Other
  • Lightning Cloak on Other

Restoration -

  • Greater Ward on Other
  • Healing Embrace (channeled healing spell)

  • Mend Wounds on Other (heal over time)
  • Mend Greater Wounds (heal over time)
  • Mend Greater Wounds on Other (heal over time)
  • Mending Boon (heal over time on self and in AOE around caster)
  • Soften Symptoms (halves disease penalties on self for a while)
  • Relieve Symptoms (removes all disease penalties on self for a while)

Illusion -
  • Muffle on Other
  • Invisibility on Other

Worried that playing support is boring or too easy? In group battles you'll find that targeting your ally becomes a challenge, and if your allies are ever defeated, watch out, you're next! Juggle buffing multiple summons and your henchman and keeping each at full capacity. Manage your magicka so that you can give the ally the boost they need right when they need it!
You may find yourself using spells you used to think were useless, such as Ward, which is now fantastic for supporting an ally in battle.

The goal of this mod is to introduce a very balanced and seamlessly integrated set of spells to enable a viable gameplay experience for support-caster types of all disciplines. Each spell is inspired by a vanilla balance for cost, power and level requirement, referencing the few existing "On Other" spells for guidance. Further, the spells are added to all the appropriate leveled lists, making growth as a support caster a completely organic experience from the very first spell vendor all the way to the College of Winterhold. Your magic skills level up as expected as your allies benefit from your spell effects. We have been keeping a close eye on not overlapping existing effects in the game, so the buffs to skill and health in Illusion have not been replicated in other schools.

As this is the first release of Protector Spells, we are delighted to receive your feedback, especially where balance is concerned, but also for spell mechanics that you feel are missing from Skyrim. The initial release focuses mostly on turning existing mechanics into "On Other" versions, with a few brand-new additions such as "Mend" spells, which heal over time, and Symptom reduction spells (currently only on self) to combat diseases. We intend for future versions of the mod to add brand-new spells that are crafted from the ground-up to expand the support caster's toolbelt, such as the "Explosive Wards" that create shockwaves when they reach their limit and break, "Elemental Wards" that absorb much greater amounts of damage, but only from specific elements, and more!

Always love new spells, nice idea too. I personally don't use companions, so I won't use these, but good job with them. Thanks for the mod!

Out of curiousity, do the followers comment if you hit them with the new spells, like they do in the vanilla game when you hit them with a healing or courage spell?

With healing spells, yes. I have not heard them comment regarding spells outside the school of Restoration.
