They will. They have already acknowledged they are working on patches for all platforms.

I don't believe a patch can fix the texture issues unfortunately. If it can that will be awesome, otherwise I believe it would take a relatively BIG patch.

Graphically the only place that bothered me texture-wise was High Hrothgar. The pixelated stone textures reminded me of Daggerfall!

That aside, I'm getting a bit worried about the PS3 bug with save files and lag.

yodelz you are wrong it has been proven both games run at exact texture res, do you know why the game looks blurry compared to the 360? because of the anti-aliasing they used on the ps3 version called fxaa which is the same crap as qaa which blurs the whole damn image, compared to the 360 version that uses the traditional msaa, if you want the game to look as sharp as the 360 but with a tad more jaggies then we should all message bethesda to give us an option to turn it off, maybe it could even save some performance resulting in less frame drops?

Well.. after renting the xbox version to double check, it realllly doesnt look better on the xbox. They are similar however the water looks alot better on the ps3, as does the depth of the color.

Let me clairfy, this is using the same tv, both in upscaled 3D, both ran at the same point for the same time doing the same things. Namely running to riften from helgen.

Overall, ps3 won for graphics and draw distance. Especially on draw distance tbh. The xbox had considerably more pop-in.

The graphics issue is not that they aren't there, but more that they are not loading fully. So this can be fixed easily, its a similar issue the xbox users are experiencing.

That is how Windhelm looks for me. Just like Daggerfall.
But hey, I haven't gotten stuck in any walls yet, so it can't be that bad right?

I agree with the above post entirely.

There is some bizarre trolling on here. I bought both and have played both significantly.

PS3 looks brighter and crisper to me, but I agree now I have played for some time, that the shadows could be done better, as on close inspection they can flicker and do look pixelated. Framerate seems to be the biggest issue at present, although luckily I have not seen much, just some small stuttering.

BOTH!

Weather it's spending $30 at a used gamestore, or fullprice at a big-name retail outlet, we are the customer and we deserve a product that works AND looks just as good as the other console.

Are you a child? Do you understand *anything* about graphics hardware, how code is written, graphics libraries, etc?

All hardware is not created equally, and a PS3 is NOT a Xbox. They have different hardware and different capabilities. The Xbox will look closer to a PC, because it's based on PC hardware.

Even if they wanted to, Bethesda could not make the two versions look just the same, because they are running entirely different hardware. Sorry if that offends your delicate sensibilities, but it's the real world. You can't get blood from a stone, and you can't make hardware have capabilities it doesn't have. The design team has to balance how the hardware performs with the graphics features they'd like to have in the game. Would you be happy if your game looked like a movie, but had a framerate of 2? You can't have it all, everything is a trade-off.

If you Bethesda came out with Skyrim for the Gameboy, would you expect it to look and perform just the same as on your PS3?

Grow up already.

read this and wait......

Skyrim Patch Timeframe Unclear; Bethesda Working on Creation Kit and Bug Fixes
Posted in News on 16th November, 2011

There are a lot of issues with Skyrim, and Bethesda is trying to fix them all, but if the issue you have still persists even after the patch, Pete Hines, community manager for Bethesda Games said that he really doesn’t know if it it will fix whatever issues people are experiencing.

“We will fix as much as we can for your platform. I don’t know if it will fix “your” bug. Takes a while to test/fix/regress. Hang in there,” he said.

He was also unsure about the ETA for the patch, as players are getting quite angry as we reported earlier. Most of the issues are seen in the console version, which is obvious since it’s such a huge game.

He also said that they are working on the creation kit and the bug fixes together.

“Sorry, not going to give timeframes on this. We’re able to do both at the same time.”

Lets hope it’s not a huge wait, as it can get really complicated with such a huge game. Hines said that he doesn’t know what the update will fix either.

“I don’t know what the update will address until their completely done with it. Things change all the time.”

Watch the trees and the water at the beginning for the ps3 compared to 360, 360's water looks more realistic, and if you pay attention to the first tree, on the ps3 version it looks more bare thna the 360 one.

Also at 1:20 note the water effects from ps3 compared to 360, and the 360 has water dripping down from the cieling in the ps3 version you see none of this. Water effects are worse for ps3

Have you even played the game at all? PS3 has water dripping down from the ceiling too.

While I have not read the other "Hardware and Software" forums, as of right now the PS3's has 389 topics, Xbox 781 and PC 3,312. Seems like all versions have problems.

Absolutely understand but for the ps3 i think the main problem is FPS drop where it becomes so bad the game is unplayable. I read most topics from other versions, they dont seem to have this problem as bad as ps3 users

I'd rather have 100 small bugs than this huge one that makes the game unplayable. Getting the 360 version tomorrow...

Not going to play skyrim on PS3 anymore.

Unless a patch is released to fix these problems... i'll resort to playing other games while bethesda resolves this issue. It seriously pains me to have bought the collectors edition on PS3... Guess i'll have to buy a 360 copy once i get that console.

I think all PS3 owners should get a patch and then whatever DLC comes out should be half price, if not free.

Bethesda, our first experience with this game has been ruined.

You bought the collectors edition ouch i am sorry and feel your pain, thats alot of money wasted on something broken. Think if you knew the stereo you were going to buy was broken, would you spend 500 on it, prob not. I think the people to balem here is Bathesda obviously, but because of their lack of communication about the ps3 version. We got no screens no gameplay, just interviews saying its fine. Well you know what, we the gamers deserve better and first hand experience knowing the game is ok. It was kept under wraps for a reason, now we know why. Funny thing is we keep the company alive, without us the consumer, they would go out of business.

Oh but who cares about the PS3 users, They're only a small percentage of our fan base...

If the game preformed this way on Xbox or PC it never would have been released. So why is it ok to do this on PS3?

Because they have done this sicne fallout and know they can get away with it. Its easy to turn a blind eye and us complaining can easily fall on deaf ears, they care about the money. Thats all, as soon as they get it the community usually is forgotten, vote with your wallets people, dont buy something thats broken and you dont believe in.
