PS4 Patch questions.

Post » Fri Dec 11, 2015 4:55 am

Fired up my PS4 just now and it automatically started downloading a patch for Fallout 4.

Semi-rant time.

I have my system set to not do automatic updates. I do not want your patch until I know it doesn't break something because as far as I know, there is no way to roll back to a previous patch on the PS4. You are either stuck with the current installed patch or the install disk version. If I'm wrong on that please correct me.

That said, it started downloading the patch automatically even though my system is set to not download updates. Not cool guys. I'm going to have to disable my internet connection on my PS4. :sadvaultboy:

I do not want your update yet because my game is working fine so far with the day 1 patch.

Ok. Semi-rant over.

Now that the PS4 patch is out, can someone please tell us if it disabled the unlimited building materials and unlimited building size exploits?

Ironically we don't have the ability to go in to console mode on console's so we can't use mods. There's a lot of us out there that have multiple saves. One for building and one for playing the game and we don't want to get locked out.

Please (x1K) can someone verify if this capability has been removed or not.

Thank you.

Shane

I will be testing this out shortly Shane.

You know as well as others, that the building aspect is such a huge part for me as I like to build big lol... so if certain exploits are patched.... I that will ruin the game for me or We will jsut ahve to find new ways around it.

Good luck! I hope you don't get locked out.

I wonder how much of a pain it would be to swap out the HDD? These take the smaller laptop HDD's and I imagine most people don't have spare ones of those laying around.

The cap glitch don't work now with the patch if that's what your referring to unlimited building supplies.

But you can still bypass the settlement size.

Can't believe they fixed the cap glitch.

Yeah I didn't mind people using the cap glitch. It's a single player game.

Exactly. All I'm trying to do here is build my bases. It wasn't something that needed fixing. You have to manually do the glitch, so it's not breaking someone else's game if they want to play straight up.

yes. Haven't tried to see if dogmeat can fetch the cryolator though

I guess you can still replicate build material.

I'm actually reverting to a pre-patch install, I actually enjoyed being able to buy everything off a vendor with the ammo cap glitch. Sure I can still dupe building materials, sell them and make money that way to buy the ammo. but I really don't understand why they had to patch that.

There are two specific glitches Ops and I use.

1. When you buy shipments of materials you can keep duplicating them in the Workshop thus giving you unlimited building supplies. Empty out your Junk inventory and your Workshop Junk inventory. Put it all in a container. I built two next to the Workshop bench. One for the Junk items and one to store the Shipment Orders when not in use.

Edit: I described the process wrong originally, this is the correct way to do it ... Put the shipments in your inventory then go in to 'Tranfer' at the Workshop bench. Hit "Store all junk" and then in less than a second hit "Take all". I can do it with one finger but I've seen some people on youtube do it with two fingers.

It will create the shipment items plus save the original 'Shipment' order. Normally the original shipment order should be removed. You can keep doing it over and over if you hit the buttons fast enough. But you have to be quick otherwise it just transfers the shipment to your Workshop junk inventory and you lose the shipment order.

2. When you reach the build size limit you can reset it by dropping your weapons on the ground then go in to Workshop mode and select 'Store'. Every time you store one your 'Size' bar resets a little and you can keep building.

I have two hard saves going. One where I just build using this exploit and the other where I don't use any glitches at all and I'm just playing the game. Both are equally as fun. This game really is amazing.

It would really svck if they removed the ability to do this for us console users.

It might just be that they didn't fix that glitch in particular but fixing something else in the patch effected that glitch.

On the PS3 you could delete a patch. I guess you can on a PS4.

strange...I am on ps4 and when I started while the update was downloading ( about a 3 min download) the was a option box that allowed me to start the game without the download...Check your settings again because if you did not want the download the option was there.

That is strange. I saw no option like that, but I minimized the game as soon as I saw the 'downloading in background' message so maybe I didn't let it get far enough.

So far it's started on it's own without asking me twice. When I stop playing I shut my PS4 down completely (not in rest mode). When I boot back up and start Fallout 4 I get a message in a little box in the upper left corner saying there is an update and it starts to download automatically.

This happens as the game is starting. I didn't let it run long enough to actually try and load a save file so that may be why I didn't see the option you are talking about.

I'm very grateful for updates. They are sincerely appreciated. But we need to be able to not download them for various reasons from, some of us are working fine and feel if it's not broke don't fix it, to not wanting to lose exploits, to having bandwidth limits and overage charges forcing us to wait a week or so. I know it's easy enough to stop, but it's also very easy to miss.

Thanks,

Shane

Ok the dupe shipment glitch works, but when I shut the game down to play it later I found my shipments couldn't be duped unless I bought a new shipment. Something for someone to verify.

@cashjr23,

Ok, it just happened to me. I started the game, minimized it, deleted the download, started playing. Minimized it again, watched a youtube video, and when I came back the download only had a few seconds left and a screen came up asking me to play with out updating, but it was only a few meg from being done. I selected play without updating and went and looked and the download was still going.

I'm sorry, but this is b.s.. Under no circumstances should this game be downloading anything without my permission first.

I just went in and turned off my internet connection.

Sorry, but this isn't right.

I know they fixed the glitch that let you get endless supplies of loot from containers when moving them in workshop mode and then canceling allowing the items inside to respawn. .

Long time Fallout player, first time board poster.

Been playing FO4 since a week after release.

Loving it.

80+ hours in, just hit level 40.

So, over the weekend, I discovered the "Use vendor ammo to clear out their inventory and caps glitch".

You know, get all ammo of one type from a vendor, put one bullet back, return any amount other than just 1 or all, try to sell some, have the ammo stay on your screen and be used as unlimited currency for that vendor.

Went to every vendor I had met so far (most in the game, I believe) and cleared out all their inventories a few time.

Today, the patch came out and downloaded automatically in the background.

However, I have not installed it yet.

But, the Ammp glitch does not seem to work anymore.

I tried for hours today, with various vendors and amm0, with zero success.

Even though I have not installed the patch.

Has anyone else been able to make it work?

If I disconnect my PS4 from the Internet, with the patch not installed yet, will the glitch start working again?

Thanks in advance for any answers.
