Incase you haven't heard, there is a lot of internet banter about Notch funding a sequal to Psychonauts, probably one of the best games on ye old Xbox. And has now obviously attracted a lot more investments, so it might actually happen. Also to top it off for you Notch haters, he stated that he wouldn't want to have any creative input to the game and let the old lead Tim Schafer make it.
Anyways, what do you guys think? Did you play the Psychonauts or do you just not care for the hype?

I loved Psychonauts and I really hope that a sequel happens some day. Maybe after they finish their Kickstarter funded adventure game.


Apparently when Tim Schafer was at meetings with publishers trying to sell the idea of a Psychonauts sequel, he'd use the fan-made http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWa1eiHPhKw trailer, because he thinks it's better than any Psychonauts trailer they ever did.

I played it and I thought it was awesome.

The problem with the rumours is that a Psychonauts game would cost somewhere in the region of $60m to make. That is not money Notch has, I don't think, or if he does, he'd be incredibly stupid to sink it all into what was barely a profitable venture the first time around. And I don't think he's stupid.

Psychonauts 2 may eventually get made, but I don't think it'll be happening soon.

Psychonauts is an awesome game. I already have it for PC, but wish they would release Psychonauts HD to PSN too, that would be great.
