Pure warrior anyone?

At firsrt I actually didn't intend to be pure warrior - I wanted to add restoration and alteration to the build...but as soon as I realized that using all these skills could stunt my main offensive/defensive skill advancement relative to my level, I just couldn't use them. that and actual sword and board was my main interest from the start so I mainly concentrated on one hand and block, with occasional alchemy, smithing, heavy armor, lockpicking(obviously) going up.

So now I'm lv 15, with one hand 55 and block 40. To be honest its not easy to tackle tier 3 monsters like wimped draughr(wimped was it?) or highway bandits when I'm surrounded by one or two lower level thugs at the same time, which is fairly common situation in any dungeon.

Since I have next to nil magic defense magic hurts A LOT...just waiting for 50% magic damage reduction in block skill tree. I'm wearing mostly superior steel armor and dwemer body armor and when fighting enemies mentioned above I have to drink stamina/health potion like crazy...I've prepared 10+ stamina potion before one quest which I used all up in one crowded situation. No health=dead of course but for pure warrior no stamina= death too cause I have to use shied bash to cut enemies' attack or health drops like crazy. cant afford to get hit by power attacks.

I think once I get movement speed improvement while holding block and magic defense I'll fare much better. tbh I don't think pure warrior can survive without shield. I cant imagine myself dual wieding and dodging all those blows while hitting with stationary dual attacks. Anyone has good suggestions for pure warrior build?

You would be surprised what you are capable of while dual wielding.. You have a huge gap closer built in and the damage is insane when you start using poisons and magic weapons. I'm sure you can pure warrior if you want, just carry extra health potions until you unlock the perks you mention.

Just know that you're wayyyy better off than 2h users.

I'm an axe and shield warrior. Mages are the biggest problem, I agree. The perk to reduce all magic by 50% in block is amazing and helps a lot. My best advice is make sure you keep up with crafting skills. I'm level 36 with 100 smithing, 60 something enchant and 30 something alchemy. All of my dragon armor ( heavy, of course) is upgraded and enchanted.

Another suggestion would be to keep the shield in your left hand and throw a healing spell in the right when it's time to heal. Time your blocks when you can and try and hide behind things and heal.

Also, try and use defensive shouts when you get them. I have the freeze shout that puts the enemies in blocks of ice. I use it defensively to freeze the enemy and then heal or regain stamina.

Playing the same build, but I do use restoration magic. When I get low, I drop shield equip heal and kite for a while, use the charge shout if necessary. I spent 2 perks on resto. At level 14 I have 51 one hand, 37 smithing, 36 block, 30 resto ... at 40 resto there is perk for heal to restore my stamina as well, that will be impressive.

In fights I recommend the charge shout and bash&slash tactic. Bash with shield 1x, hit with weapon 1x, bash 1x, hit 1x ... that is against 1 heavy hitting opponent. In groups I don't know what I do :) Also don't neglect enchanting, extra 10 dmg on my weapon ? Yes thank you.
