Purge Cell Buffers
? Version 1.0 // http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36805

You may have noticed that whilst playing for very long periods of time without taking breaks, your game becomes increasingly unresponsive and stuttery. This is because the game does not delete cell data that has been used at some point in your session but is no longer useful.

With this modification enabled, this excess game data will be deleted or "purged" every 10 minutes, to avoid performance hits, unresponsivenesss and general slowdowns whilst playing for long periods of time without taking breaks.

I hope this helps you maintain a stable performance, brings you joy and that you give it your endorsemant.

No but there is a similiar modification available for Fallout 3.

are there any downsides of using this cell buffer purge?

I suppose if you tend to go back and forth between the same cells multiple times in 10 minutes then you will have a slightly longer loading time the next time you enter one of these cells. But nothing out of the ordinary or game-breaking.

Or you could just open up the command console and typ "PCB", which does the exact same thing.

But even still, it's nicer to have it done for you, no?

In regards to the whole PCB thing - has the issue with PCB causing crashes/errors been fixed in New Vegas?

??? I've used it extensively in Oblivion and FO3 and never had any problems with crashing or errors.

@Foxtrot Zulu: Does this really do the same thing as typing PCB in the console? Every time I do that I can't tell if It's doing anything.

...does the exact same thing and prevents you from earning achievements. (Unless they changed it in the last patch)
