No PVE collision

Post » Sun Nov 24, 2013 10:00 pm

So basically you can run though mobs, or NPC`s in combat when you fight them, this is kinda gameplay breaking because when you fight you fight ghosts or just wind and you can walk through them and they just move few steps to side so you do not stand inside them.

Do you think there should be PVE collision?

Colliding with NPCs makes me want to collide my fist with my monitor.

Skyrim has collision for a reason it's 10x more cool and realistic combat when your not a ghost 247

I think this is one of the subjects that it's understandable for TESO to differ from the single player games. I'd rather have them keep the collision, but if they don't, I understand.

Skyrim also only has to track collision interaction for your character as opposed to hundreds of other players at the same time.

I don't mind either way, but Zenimax have remained pretty adamant that they are keeping CD out of the game and they are going to keep it that way, so I think it's best to get used to the idea.

I actually think this is a good idea, I don't like the idea of collision in PvP, because you already know why. But collision for NPCs and Monsters in the PvE areas would be a good thing.

That wasn't really my point.

It's that having the game track collision detection for more players increases the work needed by the devs to implement it. Work that they've obviously decided not to focus on.

Me? I'm not fussed either way. It's either in or it's not. And it's not in.

You don't like walking through enemies?

Well fine, just don't walk through them.

I don't see your problem.

Fun Fact:

In other TES games ghosts had collision, too!

Yes, a a difference of three people in a thread created only a couple of hours ago and only 15 votes total constitutes a worthwhile majority does it?

And how many people have looked at the thread and not bothered voting because they know that a poll isn't going to change the devs stance.

This isn't like the first person view thing where literally almost everybody wanted it in.

Nonsense!

Those who like to have no collision just don't care about your polls.

Since they get what they want why should they care?

I did and factoring the 'don't care' people in. The so-called majority isn't very big. Results are fairly evenly split.

Unless you have a link to a poll that shows a huge majority?

To be honest though, forums polls are unreliable at best. Since you're likely to get a lot of people creating an alt just to vote and inflate their sides count.
