Is it Pve friendly or PVP focus?

Post » Wed Jun 26, 2013 5:45 pm

Just watched the Angry Joe interview...my yay factor was quickly turned to an "oh no..." it was said each faction stays in there zone for awhile? then once they get into Cyrodil (so am guessing players are forced to go there) it is open pvp...Also, to my understanding friends cannot quest together unless they are the same faction? What happens If I want to be a breton and my friend wants to play a nord?...The game looked great in the video, but starting to wonder if this will just be another forced pvp game..

To the pvp players, glad ya like it! and in no way trying to attack what you enjoy. Just trying to gain an understanding of the game before I decide to plan on getting it. (have a few MMOs looking into, Elder Scrolls has my attention because it does not seem horribly grindy and has the Tank-Healer-Damage dealer set up)

Just like any other game with factions that I have ever seen - if you want to play with your friend, roll a character on the same faction.

Regarding PVP - I won't be PVPing at all - ever, nothing in the game will make me.

You are not forced to go into Cyrodiil. You can go there at any time once you reach level 10. Factions are also locked so members of the Daggerfall Covenant cannot interact with someone in the Ebonheart Pact without going to Cyrodiil. Finally, there is no open world pvp except for Cyrodiil, so if you absolutely do not want to do pvp, you do not have to.

Ok he should have worded it better in the video then ^-^ about the pvp, though still kinda sad about locked factions...going to make finding dungeon teams extremely hard.

Yeah you're still not getting the concept here I think. With the megaserver you will literally have access to every single player who plays the game on your faction for PvE. Say a rough estimate 750k people are playing ESO, you be able to play with roughly 1/3rd of those. So finding a group should be extremely easy.

Oh no no I understand, but I already read that its based on US and EU each having their own =p and ps4 and Xbox one each having their own. So really, So unless a lot of US players are going to be playing then no, and it also depends on the faction they choose =p

In other words, this is just a faction warfare game that happens to be set in the Elder Scrolls universe. The true essence of Elder Scrolls, being what you want, going where you want, doing what you want, is lost. I can't be that breton from Skyrim who's loyal to the Aldmeri Dominion. As a breton, I would have to be from the DC and loyal to the DC, and couldn't even visit Skyrim until I was 50th level at which time the only people I'll actually encounter in Skyrim will be other members of the DC.

Yup, that's the Elder Scrolls I know and love, alright.

Yeah, but once you get over this as I did some time ago (around fall last year) you realize that no other MMO will allow you to play in Tamriel. There's no other Elder Scrolls MMO coming, ever, so if that's what's important to you, as it was for me, you might be able to overlook the game's limitations.

It depends on where you are.

Cyrodiil = PvP focus

Everywhere else = PvE focus

As for your friends... you can be in the same guild with them regardless which race you choose. But if you want to play together, you'll need to make an alt in their faction to do so.
