PvP in Cyrodiil Only?

Post » Mon Jul 29, 2013 5:30 pm

What about PvE areas that we overlap with other alliances?

If possible, let there be PvP in other areas other than Cyrodiil so that there can be some element of surprise, excitement or danger from opposing factions.

I'm not looking for hardcoe. I'm just looking for the same feeling I get when I play Skyrim except now the NPC factions are real people.

And if other PvP additions are made please don't go the Hutt Ball route. :D

PvE areas that overlap other alliances? The factions will be locked. You'll only be able to do your faction until you hit level 50. Once you hit level cap you can do the 50++ Zones (Read http://www.tesoelite.com/2013/04/50-experience-everything/ for more info that) which will allow you to explore the other faction areas, but you won't see the other faction players.

in Cyrodiil we'll be able to PvE, Quest, Public Dungeons and all that if we choose to.

The freedom you experience in the single players isn't something you'll be able to see in ESO because of the type of game it is.

This.

There is PvE in Cyrodiil, so technically you get what you say you want. Given that you actually want to gank PvEers when they aren't prepared for it, no you won't get what you want.

Cyrodiil is going to be huge.

It's like high sec and null sec in EVE.

High sec, it's pretty much no fighting (exceptions are waring guilds)

Null sec, it's pretty much player made laws (if any at all).

Cyrodiil will still have npcs, questing, resource gathering etc and it's going to be big (some say even bigger than the oblivion map).

I don't think that would go very well with the lore, nor common sense.

You go past / around a major battlezone to " explore " an enemies country?... Seem's a bit insane to me. Especially when you consider it is in a time of war. I'm a veteran of WoW so i know ridiculous when i see it.

Making guards and military personnel at every border would be the most tedious task you could ask Zenimax to do... and even in doing that some complete idiot would still try to get past so he could go kill lowbies. Not even my narcissistic view would have me think i could avoid an entire army of Mage's, Archer's and footsoldier's.

They have a leveling system for ESO where 1 character can complete ALL the content. Look it up. All PvE can be completed on 1 character.

And you are going to go into Cyrodiil and fight against other PvPers, no more twinking in WoW, no more attacking target's that aren't ready. You take on Competent opponent's. If you are too terrible for such thing's, then go Win trade, but don't act like you don't.

Not sure why people assume that I want this so that I can gank others. That's not what I'm looking for. I have been ganked many a time. Just looking for unpredictable, exciting gameplay from players and not just npc's.

If there is true questing, gathering, etc then great. What I would not want is Cyrodiil to be a battlezone with a spattering of PvE questing and resources just to disguise as an open world area. What would be really awesome s if we had housing in Cyrodiil or at least a choice to have a house there.

Rift did this and it was amazing. Very exciting. When someone invaded a call went out and we defended. It was a blast. :-)

Pretty much this. Cyrodiil is a massive zone (bigger than several of the PvE only zones combined) and will have its own host of towns, quests, public dungeons, etc. There will be world PvP in this area, just the definition of the word "world" is slightly altered. Its still the exact same game experience though.

The reason for this is because they want people fighting IN CYRODIIL SPECIFICALLY. If people are busy raiding random towns across the game, then they're not participating in the main feature of the game, which is the giant 3 faction war raging in this zone for control of the zone itself. You get where I'm going here?

It's because you guys constantly think you are the first/only person to ever think up such things. You forget that there are 46 yr olds out there that were playing games when your dad was chatting up your mom.

But sure, I'll play.

PvE areas. The only reason to seek PvP in a PvE area is to get victims. Not a challenge....that would come from PvP areas.

Surprise, Danger, Excitement. Surprise meaning you jump unsuspecting victims. Sure you can say it could happen the other way around, but let's be honest, you are only thinking about yourself as the mighty hunter. Danger meaning ganking people who are focused on PvE mobs. Sure you spin it as you could run into the server's best PvPer while sneaking around, but that's just more smoke. Excitement meaning the lame-ass thrill of ganking someone. You spin it as never knowing when you might get jumped while PvEing, adding some spice to an otherwise boring encounter.

Unpredictable? Yet another BS buzzword you guys think will blow smoke up our asses.

Here's the thing.

If I am in a new area, there's the Surprise. I don't know what to expect. If I am familiar with the area, then I am looking for something and it's not excitement unless I am trying to solo it etc.

The Danger is as above. I am either exploring etc, or I am testing myself or farming a resource etc.

Excitement, again as above. Yay I have enough coal to make that sword I've been wanting.

So there ya go. That's how we see thru your BS.

Why?

It's a huge area. It has PvP, PvE, large and small battles, keeps to attack and control, can level and earn gear.

A single map only for pvp is good maybe at beginning but after a time people will get bored , u cant pvp same map months and month ,even if the map is huge , open world pvp on pvp servers will be great...i really enjoy while i make quests or grind to see red names and kill dem fast , or of course maybe to get killed,it enhance my playing experience.

Of course some people will say OMG ganking , but anyone can call on chat for some higher levels and the the drama and the hunting starts .

More pvp will make the game alive

But you can get all that in Cyrodill, on stop shopping, kind of like Tamriel's Wal-mart.

Here's a thought. You don't want a RPG, you want a 3rd person fantasy shooter.

PvP is more than new maps, its about competition or taking keeps etc. I think you just want to talk tough on the forums.

Wouldn't a flag system for PvP solve this issue?

Yes, but, it would take away one of the main points of this game and that's PvP in Cyrodiil. The game basically revolves around it. If they allowed OWPvP then it would detract from Cyrodiil and they don't want that.

No. ZOS wants people to fight in Cyrodiil. If PvP is everywhere then the focus is off Cyrodiil and the huge war they have planned becomes a bunch of random skirmishes around Tamriel.
