Quarry Junction completion.

Post » Tue Mar 29, 2011 11:59 pm

Am I the only one who feels Quarry Juntion was just shrugged off as "It'll be for the main quest....sometime....eventually....sidequest....do whatever you want I guess." feeling? I mean, You offer to single handedly offer them to slay the entire pack of Deathclaws, essentially making I-15 safe for passage, and all I get is a pat on the back. I'm not asking for a physical reward, but I'd expect to hear my deed done on RNV, or people talking about the safety of using I-15 again. Instead all I get is a 'Thanks, better get back to work' and a few crummy NCR bucks. :cryvaultboy:

I think is about taking on a DeathClaw den. Hell, I like doing that so much I always go to Death Wind Carven for "Bleed Me Dry".

That entire stretch seems underutilized. Vault 19 also was disappointing. It has a brilliant atmosphere, but you don't get into it enough. And the guys who occupy it seem like they should be part of a faction.

Indeed. I think I-15 is basically made over powered so that the player doesnt skip straight to Vegas, I mean, I-15 is bare as anything in terms of that other highway you are encouraged to take. :sadvaultboy:

@Valkebus- I hate Deathclaw, I only cleared it in my first playthough with hopes of being hailed a hero.

Maybe they add the DeathClaws at I-15 when they realize they don't have time to tidy up all the Powder Ganger problem.

Spoiler
Aren't the guys in Vault 19 the Powder Gangers?

Or do you mean the original inhabitants?

They are, but they are technincally factioned differently so you can do their quest regardless of your rep with the faction.

I mean the Powder Gangers. But they're not part of the Powder Ganger faction. They're a non-reputation faction instead.

I was going to clear it out. The first time I tried I went in unprepared, and got outnumbered five to one. I got four of those basterds before the last one got me :(

Um, go to the Thorn, find red lucy, do the egg quests. You have to go there to get Deathclaw eggs, and she gives you some of her red lucy.

My Quarry Junction dissapointment is about the invisible walls. Obviously with a sneaky sniper character i climbed atop of one the buildings, only to find out the roof is blocked by the infamous invisible walls. TCL:ing trough them does little good since the walls stop bullets too

This game has a love/hate relationship with snipers, the sniper rifles are the best guns, but all best sniping locations are invisible walled :swear:

$ 500 NCR? And a Super Stimpack and a mini-nuke. Both are useless to my character. Oh well, i guess Deathclaw hunting must be it's own reward

Fame & Gratitude > six

six > Fame

Gratitude = six

Therefore:

six > Fame & Gratitude

Impressive enough six can result in Fame.

So, six > Everything Else.

Actually you still gain PG fame form Vault 19 quest.

Seriously, while the Fiends at their base is okay if even if you kill three of their chiefs and countless others , the PG in NCRFC would attack you on sight if you take down a few of their raiding parties? And the Fiends are suppose to be the one that doesn't negotiate?

Some where along the line Obsidian have mess up the PG spawning and found that they don't have time to give PG a bigger role.

not only that, but don't you hate it when you are perched high above, snipe a deathclaw, and the thing takes off running away from you and you can't use VATS because it ran too far away? But if you are on the ground...

Killing the deathclaws does NOT make I-15 safe- there's still other deathclaws on the long 15. All it does is clear out the deathclaws from the quarry so the workers can go back to work in the quarry.

I don't know. I always feel pretty good about the fact that I can kill them. Odd, but I didn't expect a reward the first time I did it, and it doesn't bother me that there really isn't one.

There are a lot of DCs in that Quarry. Killing them all is no small feat. The XP is good enough for me.
