Quest bug (Oh My Papa)

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 3:40 pm

This bug as stated in the topic title is related to the quest "Oh My Papa"

When I picked up "Karl's Journal" to complete the step "Find Regis evidence that Caesar will annihilate the Great Khans" I did not get credit for completeing that step. I know this is what is needed because I completed it but went back to an older save because I wanted to raise my speech in order to complete the optional step and disgrace Karl in front of Papa Khan. Now when I make "Oh My Papa" my active quest there is no waypoint showing where to advance the quest so I'm sure there is no other way to complete this part without the journal.

This really svcks because I've spent a lot of time on the quest and I accidently saved over the older save, making myself feel really stupid.

PS: also experiencing dissapearing companions and screen lock-ups but thoes have been mentioned in many other threads so I hope thoes are already being worked on.

I mentioned this, as well as Melissa being missing, but got no response. :(

I have done this mission every way possible, with journal, without journal, did it without the 'don't make a beggar out of me' quest. Melissa does not spawn in the Khan encampment no matter what you do and Bethesda refuses to acknowledge and fix the bug. Really screws you on getting the Khans to side with you if you have killed Mr. House.

I had this very problem myself for a long time but I did eventually sort it.....accidentally!

Check you have 'Cottonwood' & 'Fort' discovered (& you have been to see Caeser). In Caeser's tent there is a 2nd journal on a table to the left as you walk in (at the back). You need this journal & Karl's journal before you can speak to Regis about it all to complete quest.

Hope this helps

Finally got this quest to work properly after restarting from a save file that thankfully I had made before going into the Khans camp. I had to start that save 5 or 6 times, but finally got Melissa to spawn. No where near the Khan camp, but still happily enough, I was able to make my way thru a couple of deathclaws to get to her.
