I've recently finished going through an area where I found a ruby dragon claw and a book about King Olaf. Both of these items are quest related, but once I completed the quest (miscellaneous quest about hidden power in from an anonymous note), both the book and the dragon claw are still quest items and I cannot remove them from my inventory, even though I completed the quest.

Has anybody encountered this before? If so, can these items be removed from my inventory, or will I be stuck with them like in Oblivion where I have 30 quest items cluttering my inventory?

It seems as though this is just like Oblivion. My Khajiit has nearly 55 quest items, most of which are valuable and unsellable. Damn my luck...

Quest items have weight now, good.
Quest items are still undroppable. Hm.
Quest items may glitch and stay in inventory and undropable after quest. Eep.

So, not only can we overencumber ourselves on quest items alone, we may end up like that due to bugged items? Argh.

Ugh.

Quest items may glitch and be obtained a second time.
And be undropable.
And only through sheer luck and the particular mechanics of this one quest be gotten rid of again.
Aaargh!!

I loathe this glitch, drove me insane in oblivion, Lucky i dont have any... yet :S

I really hope this gets patched up. I don't want an inventory full of stuff I can never use again, especially when it encumbers me and clutters me interface.

I just re-did the quest to see if anything changed, and at all points during and after the quest, the items remained undroppable.

I tried going to jail, and while they are temporarily removed from your inventory, they return after escaping.
