Quest: Missing in Action

Post » Fri May 18, 2012 5:30 pm

I've been looking all over and can't seem to find any guides that go beyond the initial part of sneaking into the house to prove the guy is still alive. After a long trek, I found the stronghold where he's kept, but I can't seem to get in without starting a fight. And sneaking in causes the mission to say I failed and have to rescue him. If this mission can be done peacefully, what on earth do I have to do? Someone, please help.

Anyone? Someone mentioned talking to General Tullius, where can I find him?

I opted to try the peaceful approach too but had the same issue, the guard at the fort did say it would require a command to release him, maybe you can buy one if you can find a high ranking imperial, but it seems unlikely with the story that they'd let him go.

Maybe the quest is just intended as a slap in the face to wake you up that not everything in this harsh place can be resolved peacefully.

Although if you did want to find an official my best guess would be solitude, I haven't been in the castle yet but that seems to be the main city, most likely for imperials to be pushing papers.

Apparently talking to the guy I mentioned is supposed to do it, however, I'm not following the Empire's allegiance. In fact, I haven't chosen either side yet. So, when I walked into their talk, Tullius doesn't give me any dialogue options to bring it up. I'd join to see, but I don't know if that would mean not being able to join stormcloaks too.

Anyone?

Man... I fought through that whole thing. Really wanted to go another route, considering I apparently failed one option.

Someone said something about one guard (around the ford somewhere, as i understood it) that needs help with stuff and gives you quests, he wasn t finished himself so he didn t know if this particualr guard would help him find a way of releasing Thorald once his quests were completed, so i guess it s looking for that guard (if he even exists) and helping him out...
