Question about PC activation:

If Skyrim arrives in my lap tomorrow morning, will I have to wait until 12am for Steam to activate it and allow me to play? Or can I just install it and Steam will automatically activate it?

Considering that you can preload the files on Steam now if you bought the game on Steam, I think you could install it from the CD, but not be able to play it until your unlock time.
