question about bound weapons...

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 4:06 am

Hi,

I was wandering if anyone could help me out.

Im aware that a bound sword is based on deadric, however its obvious it lacks the ability to enchant, therefore making it weaker later on in the game right?

So, ho wmuch stronger is the bound weapons, with the increased damage perk in conjuration? is it worth the perks in that element, and the one it takes to reach it?

Im playing a battle mage, with one handed as my combat choice

thanks everyone

Curious about this as well. I currently am working on a character that uses a bound sword primarily. Doing well now with it, at low levels, but have no idea how well it'll do late game. Conjuration plus one hand does stack the damage it does. I've tested and confirmed this.

Your question isnt very clear. Are you asking how much weaker a bound sword (perked up with mystical binding) is compared to a deadric sword with a lightning enchantment?

its count 1 handed weapon so you would need to lvl 1 handed weapon perk other than that I use bound weapon for soul trap mainly to fill up empty soul gems.

It does well enough that you won't encounter great difficulty however it is a far cry from the power of an upgraded daedric weapon. Enchants on the weapons don't make a big deal. Enchants on armor(fortify 1h) and smithing upgrades are what give 1h weapons their true power. For Bound weapons all you are really missing is the smithing upgrade.

I just use bound weapons because they look cool. But other than that, the auto soul tap is very very useful. Also the bound bow is a daedric bow + daedric arrows, the later is very hard to find.

Bound weapons takes dramatically less perks to be strong compared to actual daedric swords that you will probably have to smith yourself though. And theyre weightless. And since you aren't enchanting bound weapons anyways just use the dragon shout that makes you attack faster for better dps anyways

So how much does the bound sword lack in power compared to an upgraded deadric sword with shock enchant?

Who cares that upgraded daedric sword took way more perk points to get. With as many perks as you will need to get an uber daedric smithed sword that is also enchanted, just use that many perks and get 2 permanent atronachs with your free bound swords that can be affected by the attack speed increasing dragon shout.

I've never actually tried this yet... can you cast elemental fury on bound weapons? If you can then it removes any advantage "enchants" have with normal weapons since there is no better enchant than elemental fury.

Elemental Fury does not work on Bound Swords. I have tried it. It pisses me off really.
