A question about communication

Suppose you knew a person that didn't really know much. Also suppose that this person thinks that learning about things is bad, and any methods of learning about things are laughable and also bad. This person views things such as science, history, philosophy etc as being "of this world" (evil), and is actively discouraged from learning about anything.

Here is the part that I would like a response to:

Is it possible to help to persuade this person otherwise (I think no), and if so, what might be a good way of attempting this?

Sounds like this person is a perfect candidate for the Darwin Awards.

Probably not, if they are convinced that learning anything is "evil" there is very little you can do to change that. Just let Darwin sort 'em out.
