I wanted to try something new and a little outside the box and build some characters that mixed up armor types instead of just full on Light or Heavy. Did anyone else try such builds and how did they fair in the game?

I had a character based of promo images of the Dragonborn for awhile hide armor, iron helmet etc. You wont be leveling as fast in either which means less perks so I would suggest taking the Lord stone to cover some of that weakness until you cant smith well.

I would recommend increasing your smithing skill so you can improve your armor beyond the base values for your level. it would give you better protection. I only use light armor and even without the perks I improved them till Exquisite level (smithing: 50& Draught of Blacksmith potions)
