will they all be ressurected at one point through the MQ? i have only encountered 3 named dragons so far and im near sovengarde. if i defeat alduin will that prevent them for being resurrected?

did you absorb their souls? that's sort of the end all be all of anti-resurrection as I understand it.

i should probably be more specefic, sorry. alduin is the guy who ressurects them all, met him 2 times in the tundra doing it and i killed both. my question is after i "kill" alduin will the rest of the named ones still show up or are they gone now that he is dead

depends, but mostly yes you'll see others.

You found him resurrecting those 2, there's no telling how many he resurrected while you were off doing quest A or B

yeah, i thought so too, i still run across some burial sites thats still intact tho, hope they are just there for decoration

Other then the two specifically in the MQ the only named dragons I've come across were after beating the MQ, and they were incredibly weak. I'm level 60 and used to getting my ass whipped by Ancients, these named losers went down in 4 arrows after a Marked for Death. Was embarrassingly bad for end game stuff lol

i came across atleast 3 named dragon during my first play through, 150 hours or so, only finished the mages guild, thieves guild (last mission wouldnt activate tho) half the civil war, and half the MQ.

I had to fight a named dragon yesterday and I've already finished the main quest. And it wasn't Parthurnaax or Odahviing. It was a totally different name.
I was kind of suprised it had a name. Other than the two "friendly" named dragons and Alduin, the only other 4 named dragons I've encountered were the first one at the Western Tower at Whiterun during "Dragon Rising" called Murmulnir. The one in Blackreach called Vulthuryol. The one from main quest "Blade in the Dark" called Sahloknir. And the one I fought yesterday. It's name was Viirukiin. And I've got 520 hours played in my game.


According to the WIKI, there are 10 named dragons in the game. So I haven't come accross 3 of them yet.

The last 3 named dragons are Vujotnaak (supposed to be near Bloated Man's Grotto and protecting a unique sword in the area), Vinturuth (random encounter while explring Skyrim), and Nahagliiv (Random encounter while exploring the Reach).
