Question about Nightingale Armor tiers

Post » Thu Jul 05, 2012 2:10 pm

I'm confused about this. I'm a bit of a leveled loot hater, and I generally level up my characters to the highest level before starting guilds/doing certain quest because the loot in this game is leveled. I want to get the best, and I think it's absurd that if you do the Thieves guild questline the best gear in the game for stealth is now the worst because it was leveled to your level 9 assassin and now you're 50 and the stats are horrendous. That's just idiotic to me. But, oh well. I didn't design the game.

So the elder scrolls wiki says there are three "tiers" that occur for Nightingale armor, and the UESP says that there are like 5, the highest being 46+, yet the ES wiki says the highest is 33+.

So what's the truth? At what level do you get the BEST version of the armor and bow? Is it 33 or 46? or some other number?

I couldn't say for sure, but I'd say that 46 is your best bet, just to be safe. Though there's that bug with the Nightingale Blade that prevents it from being upgraded at its highest tier.

I looked it up.
Apparantly, the gear is at its strongest on lvl 32+.

Well, I am going to wait with my assasin then, she almost finished the DB questline but she is only lvl 12.
A bunch of sidequests would do. She is dragonborn to so I guess I could also finish the mainquest first. But that would screw up her story line a bit. (She starts to feel sorry and becomes good after finishing the DB and TG questlines, she then does the main quest to proof she is a changed woman )
I will just do a bunch of sidequests.

Are you sure you weren't below the level requirement when you recieved the armor?

EDIT: Unless you're only talking about the Bow/Sword, in which case, yeah, unfortunately you have to wait.

2nd EDIT: Actually, I dont know why you'd bother. The base damage on Daedric/Dragonbone weapons is as good or better, and you can put whatever enchantments you want on them.
