Question about the Oghma Infinium glitch.

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 5:45 pm

Last night I used the glitch to get all of my skills to 100. I know... I am a terrible, soulless, vile and evil creature that shouldn't be allowed to walk the earth... Anyway...

I noticed that even though I can get all of my skills to 100, I cannot set the perks in all of the skill trees. Is this correct? Am I missing something? I set all of my smithing, heavy armor, two handed and archery perks and then ran out of available perks. I am now invincible and can kill anything be merely showing it my weapon, but I cannot sneak to save my life, my fireballs look more like I'm throwing matches and my lockpicks break on novice locks. Did I do something wrong? (Other than showing that I am a terrible, soulless, vile and evil creature by using this glitch.)

that's just how the game is. there are 251 available perks and i believe you max out at level 81? so there is no way to get every perk on one character.

I believe that if you use the PC version you can use the *console codes* to manually add the perks you want, although, you'll need to check UESP.net for the console information and perk codes.

I had to restart after I did this. I has a shield and mace orc and it was fun so I thought that this would add some fun, having all 100 warrior skills but I found it to take all the fun out of the game.

This is just my view, the point isn't to max everything out. I focus on a few different perks (currently I am a mage with destruction, conjuration, enchanting) and trying to get those up to 100 is a lot of fun. I have gotten conjuration up to 100 but still working on the other 2.

After taking full advantage of the glitch I still play the level 81 but I've since started a new character

I did this to breath some new life into the game. I'm on the Xbox and it has gotten pretty boring. Now I can just explore without dying every few minutes. Still, if I had known about the limitation of the glitch, I would have focused on stealth and magic.

I did it one time and got it done within 10 hours from when I started a new game. It's not worth it, you'll be overpowered.

There is a limit? I used the bookcase glitch and got all my skills to 100 and still had the book after I was done. I like to play without it because I like the challenge of staying alive, that is what makes the game interesting to me. Everyone has their own thing and if people like this glitch then I have nothing against that haha I just don't like to do it and I found the game quite boring after taking out the level up. Leveling up and maybe being a little under powered for a dungeon is a challenge not only of your characters physical strength but for you as the controller. if you are lower level maybe going in guns blazing isn't the best plan and you have to find a way to take them on one vs one and tilt the odds back in your favor!

There is a limit on how many perks you can use.

I did this to become level 81 and I still get killed by High Level Draugrs, like Overlords.... Don't underestimate their archery skills on Master Difficulty...

That is true. I nearly had my butt handed to me by some bandits outside of Whiterun. Still, it does make it much easier for players like me that just simply want to explore. I'd rather not touch a quest if I don't have to.

I have a couple of those toons. I just use TGM through the console for them. No worries.... explore, kill what you have to, run if you don't feel like killing a bear.... Depends on your idea of fun, of course, but for toons I just go dink around in the world on, works for me.
