Ok so ive been trying to find the hood on dead vampires with no luck an I just now hit the lower 30's and in noticing its a lot easier to find vampire robes now because when I was at lower level I could only find armor,gauntlets, and boots. So my question is if as you reach a higher level do the rarer pieces of vampire armor show more frequently or is it all just luck?

Anybody know?

I don't believe there is a hood.

I have a vampire hood, but it's apparel, not armor. I got it from saving the Jarl of Riften. Just a regular blacking hood.

I played through the Vampire quests at level 71 and never saw a black vampire hood. But when i played through the Dawnguard quests there was a vampire wearing a black vampire hood in the Jarl of Falkreath's court. Like Robotoh says, this hood is a garment only & offers no real benefits. I guess that appearance wise, the Guildmaster's Hood for the Thieves' guild would be a close approximation... but the problem I have is that when my vampire dons the hood, the game glitches & it appears as a bald spot on my character's head.
