Question to answer ratio 10:1

Post » Mon Dec 23, 2013 1:00 am

1. Todd Howard where you at is he where its at let me break it down for some of you ignorant people is he at the ZOS studios working adjacently with the programmers on THIS game.

2. What happens when the game will be so called a flop maybe due to to the developers chasing that WoW money like showing up a picture of a WoW in a meeting broad, and then talk to each other how the best way is to go about to make a game as close as WoW. Where will we gamers turn our gazes to if the game isn't that good, or underwhelming in expectation?

3. WTH is Bethesda Games Studios gonna do when ESO is taking over the ES franchise? "Dey toek uor jerbs!" -Bethesda

4. Fallout MMO would have been a better choice for the building of a MMO in many aspects like programming, content, design, art, character progression, immersion, easier to relate to etc... (Check my thread on Fallout on my forum profile for why).

5. If a sorcerer can't use invsibility/camoflague it isn't a Elder Scrolls game seems legit? (Referring to class restricitons etc... not being the nature of rpgness). I GOT DREAMS TO MAN THAT'S WHY I GOT INTO THE GAME.

6. Megaserver technology restricted to regions around the world? Like NA, EUW, EUNE etc...

7. First person point of view GREAAAAT in terms of closing the gap between virtuality, and reality lets take it a extra mile, and introduce collision detection?

8. So referring back to question #4 is it possible to have two MMOs owned by a parent company, or its sister company to simultaneously co-exist in the market, and still generate revenue to a appropiate degree? And if no when will the world ever set its gaze upon a Fallout MMO 10 years from now?

9. When are we getting the official forums for ESO, and not having it here in this website for the time being?

10. Will we finally see the true WoW killer? Where so many have fallen this game will rise? Out of many one? Like Zabuza from Naruto? (He killed 100 other students when he was a child in the hidden mist village where the rites of passage to become a shinobi was to kill your classmates that had the same dreams, and hopes as you tis sad).

First edit: addition of words for a more coherent, and "concentrated" question.

Second edit: what I meant with the title of this thread was that according to me I felt there was so many questions, but so little answers regarding some things about this whole ordeal.

Third edit: edit on edit as well as addition of words.

Fourth edit: clarification.

i just need to jump in and say i fully disagree with #4. i think the elder scrolls franchise is an amazing fit for an mmo game. in fact i cant think of an established franchise better suited to make the jump to mmo than TES

1. Todd is working on Fallout 4. He consults with ZOS, but he is not a major part of the development for the game.

2. This game is not even trying to be like WoW, don't draw comparisons.

3. ZOS is NOT going to take over The Elder Scrolls. TESO is an MMO spin-off for the franchise. BGS will always be at the helm of the development for the series.

4. Subjective.

5. Who says sorcerers can't? The classes are only there to draw the inital lines on how to craft your character. If you want to stay in those lines or break them down, you will have that choice.

6. Yes. Your point?

7. First-person view was added to appease the hardcoe TES crowd. Most MMO players prefer to play in third-person, as it gives greater visibility. Let's not get started in CD, we already know what the consensus is for it.

8. Possible? Yes. Practical? Hell no. Maintaining one MMO is a huge load for a company to take.

9. Official forums will likely go up when the open beta arrives.

10. Who cares about WoW?

*leaves discussion*

I don't know it depends do you want a innovated game, or a good executed game? With that I mean a Fallout MMO would be innovative at the state of the industry at it is. While a good executed game would be TESO because, so many others have already released builds upon builds of software that relate to the theme of a western medieval RPG game, so in other words execution could have been harder. Thing is also that the TES franchise has experienced more success regarding its single player games compared to that of Fallout, so keeping it as it is would maybe suit it better instead of making this "no point of return" milestone, and huge transformation that is from one genre to another like RPG to MMORPG makes it seem like a wildcard. While Fallout not as much fame could have been a safer bet.

Aswell as I feel Fallout would be, so much cooler then a TES MMO maybe its just me.

it sounds like to me you just enjoy fallout more than elder scrolls, which is fine, everyone has their opinion. i dont think there is anything that says a fallout mmo would be more innovative or better in anyway. it might have been but it would probably have made less money than ESO

Todd Howard doesn't work for Zenimax Online Studios.

Link to one interview where the devs said they were making a WoW clone.

Bethesda still has the ES franchise. For the Single Player games.

Fallout mmo had several legal issues that would not have been resolved in a timely fashion. It is also off-topic as a subject for this forum.

Link to where official information says you can't use stealth as a mage.

Of course, all the servers should be located in the U.S., who cares about lag and other issues for other countries? /sarcasm.

Neither know nor care whether Fallout ever gets to be an mmo. Running through a irradiated, blasted, nuked wasteland with limited water and food just screams for having huge mobs of people running about shouting to group for a dungeon, items they have for sale, items they want to buy, or immature pitas trying to ruin other players' games. No, thanks.

I have no idea when the new forums will open. I have already picked out sympathy cards for the official forum moderators.

No, this won't be the Wow killer. And it doesn't have to be as long as it is profitable.

Calling other posters ignorant really doesn't help anyone take your post seriously.

Fraction war?

Is that when 2/3 of the players gang up on 1/3 and then go at it 1/2 and 1/2?

Thomas Kaira calm down big boii lets see what I have to say to your answers.

1. I think they need Todd Howard's team the big dogs they got one of the best crews in the world for the building of a game, and they got a record of it.

2. LFG tool introduced by WoW aka they were pioneers, and TESO has a similar system. Don't tell me they smoked alabama kush, and they got all creative that system is copy paste straight outta WoW.

3. Rule of two?

4. If you read my thread on my forum profile regarding the future of Fallout it will take down that subjectivity a notch, and you'll also realize why due to the (factual?) reasons typed by me if that is. (Had some other answer in mind can't recall).

5. So I can be a sorcerer that uses invisibilty like a nightblade ok let me check tamriel foundry, and see if nightblades have a ability similar to invisiblity, or camoflague.

6. You call that a mega server that ain't a mega server a mega server is the mother of all servers that means it hosts all regions now that's a mega server.

7. Oh well allow me to say my personal opinions as well most players like to play realistic games that's why we have graphical hardware advancements most likely on hardware cycle am I doing it right? So, your scale of measurement of consensus is based on gamesas forums greeeat todays world. A precise consensus is based on at least 1000 thousand people the more the better, and the higher in length the normal distribution curve goes in a graph the better meaning there is a concise average.

8. That's why MMOs release new content at extended time intervalls haven't heard of a game being patched to another expansion over night, so its not a practicality issue, but I think more of a economical issue. You can't have practicality without salaries funding these people that provide practicalities thus leading to the infamous arguement of what came first the chicken or the egg? In this case practicality, or economy?

9. It seems you got answers to most of my questions hey send your application to http://jobs.zenimax.com/ make something out of yourself Thomas.

10. More then 7 million subscribers who actually take the initiative to pay for a game? Maybe just maybe ZOS has something to learn from them?

Edit: this edit is a follow-up on #5. (And?) I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance, and furious anger! http://tamrielfoundry.com/nightblade/ Click on the class skills tab. Look under the shadow skill line, and read shadow cloak. GG.

Ok something a team of people who have created many single player games should NEVER do is attempt an MMO, that is a recipe for disaster, if Bethesda were to make this game, it would be completely different, and not for the better.

Has been some about them, think anarchy online was one but not seriously into it myself.

If ESO works out the next target is an Fallout MMO pretty obvious has even been some legal issues about it, again its not my stuff, I loved Fallout but did not want to marry her, prefer fantasy and weird races like Dranei or Khajiit myself.

Yes it does, it kind of want you to replace all humans with klingeons or Khajiit who would obviously give the same nonsense demands.

This is the only thing I really feel I need to add:

6. You do not seem to understand how Megaserver works, so let me explain. Megaserver is NOT a "mega server," it is an intelligent automatic grouping utility that was developed for the game. It was not intended for what you are describing and it never was. What it does is group you with people whom it determines are the best match for how you play the game, and you will likely be able to set preferences as to how you would like it to handle you personally. Once again, NOT a "mega server," it is a grouping utility. Language barriers and platform barriers will be imposed because they are different groups of people.

The reason it's called Megaserver is because it is designed to handle all this seamlessly. No home server selection, no pausing to transfer over, it will do it all for you in the background. It was not designed to group Spanish-speaking people with English-speakers because language barriers are really bad, and consoles have far inferior controls to the PC M+K combo so allowing them to face off would result in unfair advantages.
