A Question to Bethesda re TESO

I don't want this to turn into a PC vs Console argument thread, I just want to ask why TESO wont be on the PS3 or Xbox 360?

I can understand why PC users don't want the game to be released on console as it may mean the game would not reach its full potential as it is "held back/restricted" to meet with consoles.

But why not approach it as two separate games with the staff working on the PC TESO in no way being involved with or affiliated with the Console TESO?

That way the staff working on the PC TESO could concentrate solely on the PC and making it as good as possible for the PC with no limitations or having to take anything regarding consoles into consideration. The game would be designed specifically for the PC and would reach its full potential.

The staff working on the Console TESO would work solely on the Console TESO.

Is it not coming to Console for technical reasons? It's hard to see how it would not be possible with plenty of other games out there on console right now that let you run about and shoot lots of other players online.

I can't see any financial reasons for not bringing TESO to console. Surely it would sell plenty of copies and make a nice little profit?

If TESO for console is too complicated to have hundreds or thousands of players online on the same map at the same time, then how about making it so that a much smaller group of players (eg 2-6) can all meet up and go exploring online together? I would be happy with that.

That'd mean either hiring a whole new team of a likely equal size or splitting the current team down the middle, which may well result in a sub-par game for all platforms.

To be honest, I can't really see an MMO that is released for both PC and console working without one platform sacrificing gameplay. Maybe this is the cynic in me talking, but I'd prefer a PC exclusive.

IMHO, I dont understand it why there're never console versions for MMO. Even Trion World dropped console Defiance version. Funcom is thinking to make single playing console game from TSW, at least thats what they want, maybe Zenimax should do the same.

I would be assuming that they would hire new staff. Or even if they split their current staff, don't they already have hundreds of people working for them?

I don't know how much money or profit they would make but I am guessing millions or PS3/Xbox users paying for the TESO on platform would result in profit, even if it meant hiring new staff.
