Question: Console commands?

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 1:14 pm

Hello. I was wondering in case I want to re-customize my character using console command "showracemenu" is this gonna disable achivements? And if so does it disable achivements for all chars or just this one?

It does not disable Achievements. Even if it did, saving and reloading would resolve that.

However, the Showrace Menu has the potential to screw up more than Achievements, namely your entire character. Since not all problems from this show up until you load your character after saving, make a forked save before you try the menu. Make your changes, then save in another new slot. Close the game, then start it back up and load your last save. Investigate your character, including skills and Perks and Quests and see if anything has changed that you don't want to happen. If so, load up the Pre-Forked save and try again.

So are you100% positive it won't disable achivements on this char? Really cba starting all over if in middle of game If find out that none of achives don't work anymore. Already done companion quest line ;F and some other quests too...

More concerned about Achievements than the character I see.....

Like I said, even if it does, like it did in Fallout:New Vegas, just saving and reloading re-enabled the achievements. Since you need to save and reload for the Showracemenu process, this is already taken care of.

Well yeah at this stage... yes. I want to finish of remaining achives. Got only 18 left or so.

But anyway I can confirm that it doesn't bugg your character it only affects perks... it will completly rest your perks to starting value. For instance if your sneak was "60" it will go down to 20, but perk points that you invested already won't reset.

From what I understand, the Achievements can be earned with more than one character. For example, one character could do half, the other character the other half. Other than the ones for like finding all areas or similar that just take time, this is a another strategy.

I've noticed on one of my characters doing the "showracemenu" console commands reverts all health, mana, and stamina back down to 100 but level and perks remain the same. Strangely though this is not the case for orcs. It might be because of 100 different variables but I suggest doing what CCNA said, using the console in even the most slightest way can effect achievements.
