Question for Bethesda about texure fix, patch 1.2, etc

Post » Thu May 17, 2012 12:46 am

If 1.2 fixed the texture issue, and this was a bug only for those that installed the game to the HDD, is Bethesda saying that whatever gamers are now seeing is how the game is supposed to look on the X360? (the low-res textures reported repeatedly by myself and others are still there, on HDD and USB and off Disc - from very very poor blocky snow on rocks to icky-blocky moss on stone as well as dodgy worked-wood effects, etc). If so, all I can deduce is that this is further evidence (as well as the loads of quest bugs, etc) that Besthesda released an unfinished product - at the very least a severely unpolished one. Will they admit and or rectify this? Can they even do it or is the game so compromised (particularly after patch 1.2 did more harm than good) and beyond their expertise to finish properly post launch?
Time for someone in the company to issue a statement or start to communicate in some way with its disaffected customers. Or are they writing their GOTY acceptance speech, planning DLC or looking the other way...

I'm leaning towards Arkham City for GOTY.

Skyrim could have made it if not for game breaking glitches, and these anti-productive patches. I killed my Flame Atronach with fire, if that tells you anything. Now I'm worried to leave the cave I'm in for fear of my Breton resistances and Alteration spells not working. An armor-less mage on master difficulty has a hard time surviving without resistances.

But I digress: I won't be playing Skyrim much until they assess this situation.

Well if you had played oblivion(and earlier TES games) when it was still new, then you would've expected things like this.

There are a lot of issues with 1.2
Reverting back to 1.1 provides a better experience for most players.
You can do it like this: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1298293-want-patch-11-back-this-might-work/

Exactly why I held off on buying it for a couple of months. I gave Skyrim the benefit of the doubt, and it bit me in the booty. Not saying Skyrim isn't an enjoyable game, but it's hard to enjoy the sun when you have a tinted window of bugginess in front of you.

Played Oblivion, Morrowind, FO (I enjoy Bethesda games when they work) none were as buggy as Skyrim.

Ho hum maybe Santa will bring a patch that fixes it.........

svcker that I am, i have restarted the game with a new charactor, forgetting about resistances (I am Warrior not a woozie wizard lol) and am going to stick to the main quests - which hopefully will sidestep any conflicts. And turning a blind eye to the still sometines woeful textures (which are of a NES quality in some placees, Serpents Stone Isle for one).
