A question for Morrowind players.

So, there was a thread a long time ago, asking for the general consensus of Skyrim from it's fanbase, and the consensus was that Morrowind Players liked Skyrim a lot more than Oblivion.

My question is: Why?

I have only played TES IV and V, but I got the impression that everything Morrowind players hated about Oblivion (aka the dumbing down, the streamlining, removal of options and customization) was amplified in Skyrim. I mean, one of the complaints levied against Oblivion was that they removed a lot of the skills, what did they do in Skyrim, the removed more skills.

Improved the levelling system over Oblivion, a more interesting world (this is subjective of course) and is the home of the Nord's who are my favourite race along with the Dunmer.

For me, the difference between Skyrim and Oblivion was the level of exploration. Skyrim makes me want to go to that Nordic ruin on that side of the mountain just to see if there is any back story there for it. Oblivion was really quite cut and paste with their dungeons, although I do think they have better faction quests.
