I grew up on the first Command & Conquer and Red Alert. I could probably play them for the rest of my life without complaint.

Now, when Tiberian Sun came out, I had a nerdgasm. I had another one when Red Alert 2 came out. But it was obvious that Red Alert 2, though still epic, was getting a bit silly with their units and more lighthearted with the cinematics. I thoroughly enjoyed the serious themes of the original games, but I was still having fun with the new ones.

I currently own C&C 3, but have never played it. Should I? Should I get the expansion? And I don't have C&C 4 or Red Alert 3. Should I buy these?

I don't give a damn about multiplayer in any of these games. I just want to know from true fans of the series if I would have similar nerdgasms from playing the singleplayer of these newer games, or would they just feel like a giant letdown? It looks like C&C 3 and possibly 4 might still have some whisper of stern themes to it, but RA3 looks like a lost cause. I still would like it for its boobs and sillyness, though, if it were any good. Boobs and guns aren't the worst combination ever, but it just doesn't hold my attention like it used to. I'd rather play something that was being completely serious, bad ass, and had brief glimpses of briasts, like the old days.
