This question is probably more fitting in the lore section, but I will answer it to the best of my abilities.

Yes and no.
The 9 divines, well 8 in skyrim if you don't count Talos as one are worshipped by many races, mainly the Imperials and the Nords, the nords tend to have different names for the divines Kyne=Kynareth etc. If I'm not mistaking.

Of other gods there are mainly daedras.
Azura is rather popular with the Dunmer and Malacath is rather popular with the orcs.

Though all gods are worshipped by many different races, but those were the ones I could remember from the top of my head.

I don't know if any of the dunmer still worship the Tribunal, I guess they don't.

yes, but every race can worship any god, these are sut a few that are usually related to a race: argonians worship hist and sithis, the sload worship deadra, the dunmer and the tribunal thing (but that was brought crashing down, ash-svckers think they can become gods, pffft), the akavir probably have their own gods, the imeprials combined the gods of a few races so everyone would play nice and worship the 8, but any race can worship any god

so what you are saying is each race doesnt have 9 different gods, but a couple.
some races will worship daedra in the place of gods.
and that anyone can worship the devines?

So does that mean that the 9 are the "main" gods of the whole Elder Scrolls universe?

Nope. Breton's have their own pantheon as do Redguards. Several other races do too but I'm not the most knowledgeable on the subject. Plenty of in-game books cover it though, I'm sure.

Well the daedra are also gods, anyone can worship anything.
And I guess the 8 are the main gods, when it comes to worship at least.

The Aedra took part in the creation of Mundus. The Daedra did not. The Aedra and the Daedra are both "gods" of sorts since they are both divine beings. The Daedric Princes are no less "main" gods than the Nine Divines.

I think it's more that each race has its own interpretation of the same pantheon. For example, Lorkhan is mainly known by that name to the elven races, while Nords call him Shor, and Imperials call him Shezarr, the Missing God.

The citizens of Tamriel all have a strong variety of deities outside of the Nine Divine. Many of them are shared by several of the nations and races, but are called by different names. It kind of makes you wonder..

Anyways, here are two websites to help you in your quest for knowledge.
