Didn't they say something about each race having its own set of armor a while back?

anyone know anything about race-specific armor?

Imperials have Legion Armor
Nords have Nordic-looking armor
Elves have Elven Armor
Orcs have Orcish Armor
(non-playable)
Falmer have Falmer Armor
Dwemer have Dwemer Armor

Another example of something the developers said that, while 'technically true', definitely gave everyone a mistaken impression? Maybe it was something they had originally planned on having, and then ended up being unable to include for whatever reasons. One of the poor things about the gaming industry is that a developer can say that something is in the game, as long as they were "planning" for it at the time, and then are under no obligation to mention that they've cut it or stopped developing it, unless of course it's in the official advertising material.

Almost every faction has a unique armor. That may have been what was referred to. Forsworn, Falmer, two Elven armor sets and a 3rd chestpiece, Nord Hero, Imperial, Redguard clothing
