RAGE: It has it's shortcomings and the story does not connect at all in any emotional level...it's pretty much a vehicle for the game. The Shooting on the other hand is the best I have experienced in a long long time. The Weapons are so well done with the alternative ammo and the gameplay is very diversified--from duck and cover, to sniping to all out circle strafing rockets to the FACE--it has a great balance of these elements.

The animation and artistic world is truly revolutionary and some of these maps are designed so professionally and with a labor of love. If you like Shoot-em ups you OWE it to yourself to experience this game. The fighting gets frantic about half way into the game, the first few instances are decent but as soon as you get to the authority and to subway town it gets so much better! The Mutant Expansion map is so far the best example of just pure visceral FPS joy!

Some of these low reviews from Writers--I have to question if they even like this Genre and maybe that is why there are so many polar reviews because RAGE does have everything and the kitchen sink, they wanted to quiet their critics but in the end I love how id software did not lose their identity of having the most in your face satisfying FPS combat.
