We know that most console games get leaked before release, but it’s entirely different when a highly anticipated game – and perhaps a candidate for GOTY – is getting leaked almost a week before release. So, iD Software’s highly anticipated FPS game, RAGE, was leaked today for both the X360 and PS3.
For obvious reasons, we won’t share any links but we can tell you that the PS3 version is around 18GB in size, whereas the X360 version is 19GB – or to be more precise, the JTAG version is 18GB whereas the RF version is 20GB. PC version is still safe and hasn’t been leaked as of yet.
RAGE is scheduled to release for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 4th in North America and October 7th in Europe.
I hate crackers and hackers!!
This game does not deserve this!
Hopefully try to resolve as quickly as possible!

You see this happen to a lot of good games. Unfortunately there are three ways that this happens if it is not a retail street date violation:
- Employee theft at the publisher/developer
- Employee theft at retail (be it employee directly for self or for friends)
- In-Transit theft by frieght carrier
I would go on to say it is more likely the latter two since more often than not the publisher and developer employee tend to get free copies of the finished product and guard it well due to liability. Most companies have a very strict policy in regards to the respect of street date and have a zero tolerance policy because of the potential repricutions to the company through allocations, cooperative marketing, and fines. The street date violations tend to come from small "mom and pop" stores that get their product often second hand through a distributor rather than the developer. They have little to no respect for the rules and regulations of the industry.
If you see anyone violating street date please do the right thing and turn them into the publisher and let them know it is happening. The street date violators often also support piracy with the early copies without realizing it. If piracy is allowed to continue where is the incentive to publishers to continue to produce games.
I look forward to picking up my copy at the midnight release at 12:01 PM 10/4 at my local Gamestop.
