I enjoyed it and think it was a lot more fun to play than Doom 3, although the game world was smaller than I expected after taking so much space. As for the story, it started well and continued to be well for quite some time, but I didn't really like the end as it was rather abrupt and left too many questions unanswered. But overall an enjoyable experience that I recommend :)

Haven't tried any of the multiplayer stuff yet, so I can't comment on that.

i dont care at all for the vehicle stuff so MP wasnt checked yet. im still in the SP part of things. in the subway town.

i think the game is decent, in terms of gameplay. but the art style... oh my, the art style.... im gawking at every new location for long minutes. im an artist myself so maybe this stuff appeals to me more but dayum, im stunned on how well every room and major location looks and designed, from geometry to lightning. yeah, the textures are a lot more blurry than in most games but i think it's worth it. its been a long while since i've seen a game that made me just jaw dropped and in owe.

the enemies are wonderful animations are a treat and while the gameplay is just the same old linear BS i've seen dozens of times before (and the collection of stuff and building of weapons, turrets, nades, new ammos and questgivers are not THAT impressive to add a whole lot) but the art style and over all look of it all is what's pushing me forward.

I'm 17 hours into the game and I'm loving every minute of it! Wow, love it! Thank you, id. As a matter of fact I did, a couple of times. I really hope there is DLC!!

I'm compelled to stop playing and post this because there are so many toxic posts here of people ragging on this game! It's freaking amazing!

Getting hard to read these boards too... people need to know when they are about to post a spoiler and how to alert people it's a potential spoiler. Anything related to the plot unfolding and releasing that info in a post is a spoiler IMO.

That's because there will be a sequel ;) Rage2 was confirmed a while ago.

Most games are made with an end that could very well be the end of the story if the developers chose, but Rage was intentionally meant to make you feel like there must be more, so that you play Rage2 when it's out... which will be after Doom4 of course.

Anyway I'm lovin' the game, some little things I haven't liked, but overall it's been pretty awesome. I'm so glad, because Doom3 was very boring, and I just knew that Rage was going to be good, and I was right! Well, it's good for me at least, I'll be on multiplayer as soon as I get a better connection though...

At first, I was reluctant to get it since it was an FPS. It's not that I detest games in that genre, it's just that I feel most are made in a cookie-cutter factory.
But given the whole post-apocalypse theme and Beth stamp, I jumped in. (I'm a HUGE svcker for post-apocalypse sci-fi. )

I fired it up and was slightly disappointed at the inroductory gameplay. But soon after, I got my inventory up and running and things started taking a turn for the better. The controls were a little foreign to me, but I picked 'em up after an hour or so.

Long story short...

I'm lovin' the experience so far and the enemy AI is a welcomed challenge to me in a genre I usually skip.

For me, RAGE is all the rage. (Sorry for the ridiculous joke.)

Happy gaming,

Mech

Mediocre game! 3 disks? not much game play/time. Have had longer/better games on 1 disk. Racing game--needs more input devices that can be configured--keyboard controls for racing ruined that aspect of the game. Endiing--last section of the game seemed tacked on as well as a letdown and short, like the devs just got bored and couldn't be bothered to complete it. Alot of the shooting-was little more than survive the multiple respawns--if you stocked up on ammo--easy as pie. The game looked nice once they patched it, but it was released before it was ready. The MP play---yawn.
Bottom line, just another shooter, with major bugs, that was over hyped, and needed alot more development. Big letdown for someone of Carmack's so called expertise and experience.

That being said it was an ok time waster for a total port. Played a lot of worse games, but also played many that were better.
