In Metal Gear Rising: he apparently lost left arm and eye in a PMC attack, and got a new arm... but why not a new eye?

Yeah, yeah, "Because he looks like Big Boss that way." That's not a very good reason. Getting a new eye should be child's play compared to what Raiden already has installed in his body.

Also I thought he retired, and got a normal looking body?
