Raising Your Children

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 4:43 am

The video says you must carefully raise your children, but does that mean that what you tell them from: I've got something for you, do your chores, and do you want to play a game, will have an affect on their behavior? Do you think they would run away or say, "I hate you forever and ever!" if you constantly make them do chores? Does this possibly hint towards them growing up? For let's say if you wanted to have different children, how would you get rid of the ones you already have? Would you put them in another house or send them back to the orphanage? So... yeah... what interactions do you think we will have with the new adoption system and children?

I could make a dungeon and throw the kids in there with a wolf, $10 gold on the wolf.

Really isn't this the turning into the Sims ?

Well, they will have a relatively tough childhood, after all the kidnappings, attacks by giants and skeevers, etc...

You'll be a terrible parent.

It's Skyrim, the complexity of human relations is subpar. Also, there are no consequences for your actions and no passage of time. This leads me to believe that your children will never grow up and they'll love you no matter what.

It's common sense. If you start this discussion, the topic will get locked, so settle for a simple "no".

Anything could happen even while unlikely it could be an implemented feature. I am simply trying to be optimistic and there are trolling haters ruining my pre-Hearthfire experience. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. If you start this discussion, the topic will get locked, so please quit bastardizing my imagination.

You have the option of giving gifts, playing with your kids, sending them outside to play, and instructing them to do their chores. There may be other options too.

I expect that adoption is irreversible, so if you're not sure you'll enjoy it, save your game. If parenthood isn't your thing, just reload, and it never happened. If you RP, you can just say you shipped the little brat(s) back to Honorhall.

Bethesda would never make children killable, it's far too unethical to include child-killing

I know they wont age for that alone would mess up the game, as for them behaving differently I doubt it most likely you can just tell them to do crap and they will do it.

as much as your kids growing up and becoming followers would be awesome, it would break immersion for me considering that, ive played the game for 120 hours + on my main, and i dont think a year has gone by, so unless you can adopt young advlts.. it would kill it for me

They (The ratings boards) would ban the DLC from ever coming into existence.
