Random Dragons *solved*

I can confirm that you have to finish "proving honor" from the Companions to trigger random dragons. Of course part of the main quest as well. So those who got distracted at the beggining of the game and didn't complete the companions quest and aren't seeing any random dragons, there you go.

Uhm I disagree... my gameplay says different. I have not finished the companions quest, nor did I even start it and I am getting random dragons. I believe random dragons appear after you first defeat the dragon at the watchtower.

Haven't done ANY Companions quests. Not in my character's future right now... I've been hit by about 6-8 random dragons so far.

You serious? Kidding right? Bethesda would in NO way force you to do a companion quest to trigger the random dragons, and also i've come accros plenty random dragons and I didn't do the quest

I think everyone who has ever played this game would say you're wrong. Just out of curiosity, what makes you think this?

Thats just bad luck. I've never done anything for the companions, and I've had 2 random dragon encounters within an hour of eachother.

Dragon spawns were a little odd for me at lower levels, too. Only had my first random dragon at level 21, and I killed the first one for the MQ at like level 12 or so.

You can just get unlucky, I guess.

When my brother first played, he ran West, and then North West, all along the border. He never encountered one dragon until he did the quests at Whiterun.

Sorry, but I think this is just a coincidence for you. My thief character hasn't even entered Jorrvaskr, and he has seen far more dragons, than my battle-mage, who I decided to do companions with, is a higher level, completed the MQ and has more play time.

They start showing up right after you do the first story dragon fight at the tower.
