Am I the only one who finds it strange how dunmers used to have a raspy smokers voice in morrowind yet on solstheim with ash all around and in the air, their voices are clear? It seems an odd choice to go with clear UK voices instead of lucky strike smokers.

is there any other oddities that make you wonder?

It is a little weird. I suppose it's hard on the voice actors. At least Jiub sounded like a chain smoker.
