Ranting about Races

So they are specialising the skills you can choose now?

I have seen this "playstyles"-thread, will it even be possible to play all of those?
At least not with any race, amirite?
You are in no way limited in the skills you can choose, you just get a bonus for some.

So, I′ll still be able to choose Combat Skills as a highmer and mage skills as an orc? That′s relieving, although I′ll probably play a combat nord...

That should be 4 magic and 2 Stealth - Alchemy is now considered a stealth skill.

Right. I'm still getting used to this.

Sorry, I came across a bit brusque there, was meant to be helpful came across as nitpicking. I also failed to thank you for the info, was very useful in planning my in-game me: cheers!

Good thread. :)

Khajiit
Eye of Night: Improved night vision for 60 seconds.

:shakehead: I'm assuming that's a "lesser power" (unlimited uses per day) like in Oblivion? Why not just make it a toggle? Another one for the "to mod" list.

You didn't, it was helpful.

I think so as well. It has no "once a day", so it probably is a 0-Magicka spell.

With Ancestor's Wrath I think you need to take into account that it's not just 8 damage, but 8 damage/second for 60 seconds..

They shorted the Breton and their magic resistance. They didn't add the extra 25. WTF.

In Oblivion Breton's magical resistance is: Resist Magic 50%

So why the [censored] is it in Skyrim at [censored] 25%. That's [censored].

Still this spell loses power as you level up.

I might have to make a high elf sooner than I expected. Not only did they manage to make high elves look bad ass, but they have great magical potential with that extra 50 magicka.

I was a little disappointed to learn Breton don't get bonus to destruction, but as the OP mentioned, it will level up rather swiftly. I will still play Breton, because they were my favourite in Oblivion, but I might end up making a high elf at some point. The speech bonus will be a welcome addition, considering the fact that it is a combination of the older speechcraft and mercantilism skills. Already this means that goods will be cheaper.
