Rat Pack DLC incompatible save games

Post » Wed Jan 23, 2013 2:08 am

I bought Dishonored from BestBuy and it came with shadow rat dlc. I have multiple xboxs in my house and installed the dlc on what is a shared xbox using my xbox live account.

My son started playing the game in his room on his xbox using his xbox live account (we have a family account), yesterday his friends came over so he was showing the game to his friends on the shared xbox. When he went back into his own room and tried to play the game on his own xbox he is now presented with an error message saying he does not have the required content. I tried installing the DLC under my xbox live account on his xbox, but when the game starts it declares the dlc invalid.

I'm not aware of any compatability pack, so I assume he needs his own copy of the dlc, which of course cannot be purchased as it was specific to BestBuy. Can someone offer me a solution that allows him to continue playing with his saved game.

Got my FU from support, and in response I've started a BBB complaint for a faulty product. All they had to do was provide the DLC code for my sons xbox. Bethesda, you have sorely disappointed me. I will be only buying used products from you in the future as clearly preorder DLC is something to avoid.

This isn't an issue specific to Dishonored, it's actually have content licenses work on Xbox LIVE. I have a two Xbox setup at home myself, and I've seen other folks have this issue with other titles (like Skyrim and Fallout 3) when dealing with a home with multiple 360s.

Downloadable content, including pre-order DLC, is not only tied to the Xbox LIVE profile it's downloaded on, but also the console it was downloaded on.

So let's say you have XboxLIVEaccountX in your living room and download the Shadow Rat pack. You will now be able to play this content on that Xbox 360 across all profiles on that machine regardless of whether you are online or off.

The only other way to get the content working on your son's Xbox would be to do a license transfer. Details can be found at this link
