read about the houses on UESP wiki... not sure i want any of

well, since we're getting hearthfire on ps3 next, i decided to look through the pages on the UESP wiki and see which house i might want the most... i like them all from what i saw in the pictures, they all sound nice, too... though they're all extremely dangerous places to live, it seems.

the one i was thinking of choosing, in the pale, seems to get frequent dragon attacks... even then, thats just one enemy at a time, right?

i could handle a dragon every now and then easily enough, especially if i call for help.

the other places seem to have all of skyrim knocking at your door 24/7, from the sound of it... oh, and i read that your family seems to approve of the lakeside manor the most... of course, the MOST dangerous of all the houses is the one they like best. -_-

bears, bandits, dragons, warlocks, giants... great place to raise children, apparently.

but the BIG problem is, all the houses sound as glitchy as they are dangerous.

hell, atleast two of the three houses apparently cause a massive system freeze upon entering them, from what i read... the hell?

the lakeside manor apparently causes alot of other glitches, one of which can even interfere with a quest, from what i read... great.

so... i have no idea what i want to do... im thinking of just getting the house in solitude and moving my family there... solitude is a nice, racial-friendly city.

kinda svcks, i really wanted to have a family living in a house my character built himself, would've really added alot to it... but they're sounding too dangerous, or are just bad choices due to the glitches.

Try it for yourself before judging, you might have no problems, and none of the houses have a set pattern of enemy attacks, they are all dependent on your character and what you have done, with a bit of randomness occasionally. No matter what platform you play on, if your game is already suffering performance issues, you would not be building a greenhouse at Lakeview Manor, because yes it would probably crash. Your game plays fine you should have no problems. And it only makes sense to remove the workbenches once you have finished furnishing, some did not and had troubles. Again it is all dependent on how well your games runs, some could leave all the workbenches in and have no problems.
