Realistic Creatures in Skyrim

Post » Sun Nov 25, 2012 8:42 pm

I was playing Skyrim today and while happily draining wolves and bears of blood and skin I began to notice that there were no young or old animals. Everything is just an advlt. I found that kind of boring, so I came up with a few ideas on how to improve them. I may create a mod for this in the future. There is one similar to this in Oblivion, called 'Creatures Alive'. Look it up, it's impressive.

Wolves

1. Wolves will hunt in larger packs. (I say six, instead of two)

2. When wolves kill a fox/dear/rabbit etc, they will 'eat' the carcass. Even if the appearance of said corpse doesn't change, it would make more sense for the wolves to eat the animal instead of killing in cold blood.

3. Wolves will breed. (I don't care if they actually mate or not, but I can see people having objections) and will raise puppehs. These puppehs will follow the parents, and will only hunt smaller game (Rabbits)

4. Wolves grow old. When they do, there fur may turn grey/white, and they will eventually leave the pack and die. (Aww)

5. Puppehs will grow (and there health/damage etc will increase with this) and they will leave the pack when matured and the pack cycle will restart.

6. If one wolf pack runs into another, they will fight each other.

Bears

1. Bears breed (same as wolves) The cubs will stay with the mother while the father goes away.

2. Bears eat, and may even drag the carcass away. (Same as wolves)

3. Bears can grow old and die, similar to wolves.

4. Bears will stand in rivers and catch fish (as they do in real life)

5. Bears are far more territorial, and display more realistic behavior. (Black bears will hunt players while brown bears will attack if you linger in their territory)

Game (Fox/ Rabbit/ Dear/ Elk)

1. They breed (like wolves/bears)

2. They age and die (Like wolves/ bears)

3. They nurture there young.

4. Deer and Elk live in larger groups.

5. They will eat only trees that produce some kind of fruit/ vegetable.

Fishies

1. Fish breed (Eggs)

2. They may travel UPSTREAM to pool in nesting grounds.

3. If you try and approach them, they will move away (like real fish)

4. Certain fish are only found in certain areas (e.g. Cyrodillic Longtail only found in southern water bodies.)

These are just a few ideas I've come up with. I doubt the game could even handle this :P, but it would be SO GOOD to be in the game. :)

Like I said, try out the Creatures Alive mod for a basic example of my idea. :) (I didn't make the mod, by the way)

Tell me what you think :D
