Really enjoyed Unseen Visions (spoilers)

Post » Tue Nov 20, 2012 5:10 am

I completed Unseen Visions last night. My character is a member of the Dawnguard.

I thought the quest was very atmospheric and I really loved the moths as well as the reading of the Elder Scrolls. I realize that the vampire attack was predictable but was also necessary, challenging, and fun. I also enjoyed talking to Serana at the end of the quest.

What's interesting about Skyrim is how utterly addictive the game is. I was ready to put it down a week ago because I'm having issues with the framerate and that stupid Vilkas/Farkas bug. I had told myself, "Just one more night then move on" even though I've yet to complete Dawnguard and I've been working on it for weeks.

But I can't do it. I'm on my fifth character, with about 500 total hours invested, and yet I'm planning my next character already!

Anyway, Bethesda, thank you for Dawnguard and for Unseen Visions. You guys are the best!

I started Forgotten Vale last night! What a wild ride! I only made it through the first wayshrine though, so still got a ways to go.

My second character is still wandering around in the dark looking for enlightenment in Darkfall Passage, but I am still having a lot of fun doing the DLC the second time. I miss the vampire sight though, werewolves should have better sight. :(

Edit
Seems it was illumination Aussie was looking for, but enlightenment sounded brighter. Those shy little plants that shed some light on things seem to have stopped working for Aussie.

Dawnguard performs really well in depiction of lore.
As far as I can recall, the business with the ancestors moths and the bark was previously mentioned only once, in a pocket guide.
Its great to see a little detail like that not forgotton but worked into the game.

I also very much enjoyed visiting the Soul Cairn again for the first time since Battlespire.
The Ideal Masters havent gotten any less creepier.

I also enjoyed unseen visions and the entire atmosphere but ...
How did the dawnguard know I was there?
At least the vampires know about the elder scrolls and the vampire attack is explainable but A dawnguard attack?

I know right!
Apparently they were in the trailer for Dawnguard, and I feel lucky I never saw that trailer.
Because I was exploring along in the forgotten vale, suddenly Serana says: 'This ice seems awfully thin', I hear a rumble and..
Not one, but two named dragons diving in and out of the ice!

It was epic.
Such a nice surprise.

Correction: Dawnguard is addicting, not vanilla Skyrim.

For me this DLC is like a fresh new game, made by an improved company that learned from its mistakes. The fact that I haven't experienced a single bug in Dawnguard and that I had a greater experience than back in November is the proof.

Please, Bethy, keep working like this.
