I played Oblivion for 30hrs or so, enjoyed a lot of it's elements but drifted away to different games in the end. I like freedom but I like a good story too and for me Oblivion's wasn't that great?!
Anyway after reading the stellar reviews for Skyrim I thought I'd give the Elder Scrolls another go and I must say 4ish hours in and I'm loving it

My concerns are that I've checked a few forums / videos etc and people are saying if you want to be this style character start with this race etc. I thought it didn't matter? I went with the imperial as I wanted to be an outcast in the Nord's world, plus extra coin and some speech perks seemed cool as I love the trading and conversation etc. But in terms of fighting style I wanted to just play around, though I've started to become a sneaky bow attacker that changes to dual magic at close range. I'm like a mix between robin hood and the emperor lol.. Will this still be viable option even at high levels as people have said the imperial is best suited as a warrior??
I need to make a decision as I may start again if that's the case... I like my Robin Palpatine

Any advise would be great..
Thanks

but they said the game was built on the idea that you can switch classes whenever you want, but the only thing that kind of ruins that is the perks, you can't reset them so choose carefully or save all your points for later when you decide which playstyle you really want to use.
