(Really) Quick question about Windows 7

Post » Tue Jun 11, 2013 11:09 am

I am installing WIndows again to get rid of clutter, and I'm wondering; if I choose 'custom' installation, will I really lose my files and folders? I remember that when I first reinstalled, my files were moved to Windows.old, I want to replicate that.

-Thanks everyone!

The only real difference in a custom install is the option of deleting/creating partitions and formatting your drive, and that will delete all of your files. Your best bet is to use the normal install. I'm not 100% sure that your data will be saved, but I am 100% sure that it won't be with a format.

Well, I just don't want most of my data. I want to drag a few files from WIndows.old
